The room was clean, plenty big and comfortable. I had paid for a suite upgrade from a third party site but I think my room was the same as others. It may have been special as it had a great view of the downtown area. Either way, I had no complaints. Walking distance to everything! Staff was very helpful and friendly!

Expected Colombiers with two gourmet restaurants and a canal side location to be bursting with cute boutiques in ancient lanes. There is an old part which is mainly residential and right next door a very ugly, very modern part which seems to be mostly medical facilities. Was there on a grey day in October which didn't help, but I wouldn't call it a destination unless you're boating or going for the (excellent) restaurants.

When you come here, it's either for a relaxed, quiet atmosphere in the middle of a hidden gem, called Colombiers. Either to enjoy the excellent French cuisine on the beautiful outdoor terrace. A perfect location also, to the Languedoc beaches or as a stop-over towards Spain or Italy (as situated near to the A9).
Au Lavoir is a nice village hotel, situated on the corner of some streets, close to the Canal du Midi.
The reception was friendly and helpful; we had the spacious attic room (only accessible by stairs) with welcoming air conditioning.
The hotel also has a restaurant in the back garden, where guests can park.
The appartment is spacious and clean with a comfortable bed and a well equipped kitchen. It was the perfect place to stay for me and my dog.
Colombiers is a charming village and the nature is beautiful. The owner is really friendly.
