We were in Chambon-sur-Lac for two days to ski in Super Besse. It was quiet (late February) with great scenery and we were able to walk around the Lake which was an added bonus to stretch those tired leg muscles. We ate out in a local traditional restuarant with lots of local cheese dishes on the menu and nearby in Murol (pizzeria) which was a lovely old town approx 2 kms away. I think it would make a great early summer venue too as there were swimming beaches and it looked as though many more restuarants and bars would be open then we experienced in February. Lovely setting with views of the snowy Massif du Sancy in the background.

No cooked breakfast but its not usual in France so it was not expected. Other than that I would say it was great overall. The joined room was a little small for 4 so I think it would be better to have separate rooms. The staff were very helpful making sure we had good evening meals organised in the local restaurants. The lady on the front desk spoke very good English and we had no problems thanks to her recommendations. The town was pretty and I think in summer very entertaining with horse rides, great restaurants, a fantastic walk around a very beautiful lake. It also has lots of wonderful towns nearby with some of the best views. Thank you for all the help and support during our stay.

The staff were very warm and welcoming and helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and offered enough choice. For dinner we took up the offer of the daily set menu which was home cooked, well presented and of high quality! Great value for the price. It was an added bonus that the staff could communicate in English for us.
On arrival we were made very welcome and directed (as per booking) to the annex (about 50 metres away) where we found our comfortable and spacious room. Breakfast, served in the main body of the hotel was good and extraordinarily well organise considering the large numbers of guests all breakfasting at the same time.

Lovely apartment within the resort that meant we had both the benefits of self-catering as well as the amenities of the resort including outside space for a drink/ breakfast etc. Very well located for hiking straight from the door of the hotel.
Excellent attitude of the owner and the staff. Nice family hotel, who offers everything for leisure. The facilities are slightly out of date, but who cares, when it works.
