We would arrive late, so we choose this place so we could shower, sleep and breakfast early. We think you met the expectations very well, and must say beds were nice, shower also. Breakfast was good for my wife: nuts, yoghurt, etc. I (man) wish We would have seen a little bit more stuff i like: bacon, scrambled eggs, etc. Having said that, as breakfast is included in the price - the options they did offer I liked. It felt like a free breakfast indeed - although I would have paid for scrambles eggs :)

The hotel was beautifully furnished with many interesting books, pictures and artefacts. Felt like a boutique hotel. A little oasis in not a particularly pretty part of town. The lady who ran the hotel was extremely helpful arranging taxis for us and generally being very welcoming and professional.

Chalon sur Saone is a beautiful medieval town with an enormous amount of cultural and historical sites to visit and experience. It is a very easy town to walk around being very flat, has a great supply and variety of restaurants and is an ideal location for cycling being at the centre of a number of sealed, off road cycle paths. The town is also well suited to train travel being on a main line leading to a number of other popular destinations such as Dijon, Beaune and Lyon.

I am a photographer.
I am a photographer. I was looking forward to the Nicephore Niepce Museum. Unfortunately the main part of the museum seems to be up two flights of stairs which I cannot climb. There is no lift. I was very disappointed indeed.

We walked 20 minutes into town from our hotel on a Saturday night. It is very attractive and lively with a large number of restaurants clustered around the town square and along the main road on the island.

Chalon sur Saone is a lovely French town, with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. It's on the river and must be lovely in Summer (we visited in January). The Neptune next to the Kyriad is a great restaurant too if you like genuine French food from the 1970's.

The room was fine what you expect.
The room was fine what you expect. All you require for an overnight stay. The restaurant was awful. Limited hot food options, what we ordered was not prepared properly we both left our meals. It was not worth complaining as the staff were not interested at all. One member of staff was also rude to us as we arrived 5 minutes early. The wine also was not worth the price paid. We should have just gone for the cold buffet. Which was not very exciting either.

I know France well, lived there many years.
I know France well, lived there many years. Though is historic Center is as lovely as any, the modern parts are urbanism from hell - everything is concrete, everything is built only for cars. Cars dominate the Center as well. The modern quarters are architectural catastrophes from the 1970s and in bad shape. Around Lattre tassigny street, shops are empty and closed. Basically no night life: 3 out of 4 cinemas are depressing looking ruins (why does no one clean up?!), the only one left is reachable best by car outside the city and is a cineplex for blockbusters (though fairly cheap). Do not go to Chalon!

Don’t think twice, rent it! I can’t think of a better place to stay while traveling around France. Clean, comfortable, well furnished, great linens, fully equipped kitchen, dining room living room, two separate bedrooms and a huge French private garden in back. Centrally located to all amenities, restaurants, the river, center square of town and the historic area. Very French, very fabulous, don’t stay at the high rise modern hotel! You will love it. Highly recommend.
Could not fault the hotel, we had a wonderful stay. The restaurant is exceptional, and the breakfast was one of the best we have experienced in France. The staff were so helpful, and very comfortable speaking with us in English.
We liked the overall comfortable atmosphere of the hotel. Staff were friendly and obliging. We liked being able to make a drink in the bar/restaurant. Great to have use of a pool. No complaints at all!
