Easy access from France, we drove, it my son arrived by train without any difficulties. Bourg-Madame has everything you need, a large supermarket just around the corner from the apartment. Able to walk into Puigcerda which was beautiful, especially at night.

There is very little in Bourg Madam especially in the evening. For us it's the close proximity to Puigcerda - 15mins walk -where there are many cafes, bars, shops and restaurants open all day and the evening, and a beautiful lake. Accommodation in Bourg Madam is cheaper than Puigcerda.

I loved the proximity to Puigcerda, yes you can walk from the train station to the property. Walking distance is 45 minutes. There is only one supermarket, ALDI within walking distance to the property, but does not have gluten free products.

Bourg-Madame is good for its location with public transport...
Bourg-Madame is good for its location with public transport links but it does lack restaurant facilities. The only restaurant in town was closed on the evening of my stay - but there are good restaurants only a mile away in Puigcerda.

The hotel is very, very charming (and might not be out of place in a Lynch/Anderson/Haneke movie). A beautifully kept older building. Staff was very friendly and accommodating (we arrived on bicycle, and it was no problem leaving our bikes and gear in the garage). Location is excellent – much nicer than across the river on the Spanish side, which is nevertheless easy to reach for dinner, drinks, etc.
Charming hotel on the border between France and Spain. Located in the center of village, next to a river. Spacious rooms, very nice common space and extremely helpful service. Great value for money.
Location is perfect, close to amenities and Puigcerdà is 20 minute walk away. Nice and quiet area, next to the hotel there’s a stream which was very pleasant.
