A very nice place in an absolutely quiet environment. Just what I had been looking for. I explored the Vosges during the day and came back to have a cool beer on the terrace, relax by the pool and later go for an excellent dinner and a nice glass of wine in the restaurant.
After a restful sleep (no through traffic in or air traffic over Birkenwald) I enjoyed the breakfast with its variety of breads, jams, charcuterie, cheese, eggs (ok, I could have tried all of it, but I didn't - I DO have my limits after all)...
All too soon the weekend was over and it was time to move on. But I certainly have added the 'Au Chasseur' to my list of very nice places in the Vosges - well worth coming back here on one of the future occasions.

The entire check in process from start to finish was easy, and the staff more than helpful. The food was outstanding and there was a wide variety of drinks from the bar. There was private parking for our bikes and access was easy and available. The room was very well laid out with a nice desk and large closet. I am a super fan of bathtubs and this one was comfy with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. More than anything I have to thank the staff for their great suggestions from the hotel menu to hikes and restaurants. This hotel was well worth the stay and excellent value for money

If you are going for authentic french experience, this is perfect. The room was not like the ones in the photos, but it was very cozy.
We had dinner in the restaurant, great food, great quality and the chef even sliced meat for our dog when we asked for leftovers.

It was wonderful to have this as a stop on our way to Italy, especially the kids liked it.
I was only expecting an hotel in a village with a restaurant attached. Hotel Restaurant des Vosges was that and more. A large restaurant which was packed on the Friday night we stayed. People obviously come from far and wide for the truly exceptional food..
This was our second visit to this hotel. In short we were fed and watered to a very high standard. This is a great stopover for travellers going north or south being only 15 minutes off the autoroute in a pretty village.highly recommended.
