L accueil du personnel et tout ce qui concerne hotel
It rained more than was good this time.
Get a pass for the tram. If there are more than one of you then get a pass each rather than putting all the credits on one pass.
If it is running take the boat around the Boucle, preferably on a good day.
Most of the captive animals have now been taken aways from the Citadelle and that is good, it wasn't right for the lions and tigers in there or the monkeys. Don't feel bad about the rabbits, guinea pigs and poultry - they love interacting with the public. The hen was really proud showing off her new chick.
If the weather is such that you can eat outside then eat outside. The food is always good, it would be hard to get a bad or expensive meal in Besak.
Use the trains to have a day in Montbeliard and visit the Peugeot Adventure at Sochaux. At Montbeliard Station get on the bus, route 3, about 3 euros each.
Likewise a day in Belfort is always good.

We went to Besancon to visit a friend and had only time for a short walk around the city. We visited Victor Hugo's birthplace which was very informative, and we were delighted to see some Roman ruins preserved in the center of the city. We didn't have time to visit the museum of the Resistance and would very much like to visit it on our next trip there.

Besancon is a nice small French town.
Besancon is a nice small French town. It has a couple things to do in the city, but I feel like the better ones are the Citadelle and parts outside of the city. But you need a vehicle to better reach outside.
I stayed 2 nights during January, it was cold and a bit windy, so going to a higher place was out of the question.
Th Time Museum and Victor Hugo's birthplace are pretty cool to visit and not expensive.
Lastly, I felt that people in Besancon were very friendly.

The busconnection is perfect en cheap. So you can leave the car at the hotel. You don't have to look for a parking near the town.
There are more museums than we aspected. Only the museum of resistance was closed.

In summer not all restaurants are open for business.
In summer not all restaurants are open for business. So it is wise to make reservations because it is busy. There is not a lot of trees, flowers, parks so the city looks a bit "stoney" / not romantic. The citadel is nice to visit though with children.

Tiny place and the shower was blocked, so we didn't use it.
Tiny place and the shower was blocked, so we didn't use it. It is a good choice for an emergency stop while traveling (in my case, from Germany to France) because of the location. I think they could do better.

The Akena Besancon is our go-to-Hotel when travelling to Spain. A perfect stopover hotel. Its located near the highway, but far enough to not being noisy at all. The parking lot is video secured and the gate closes at 10pm. The rooms are well-tended and tidy. The bed could be longer for a tall person (6ft6) like me, but is very comfortable anyway.
The staff is handsome and helpful and the breakfast more than adequate for this type of hotel.
The Hotel Le Sauvage is in a beautiful building with great facilities including onsite restaurant with excellent breakfast and a nice bar.
The staff were friendly and professional throughout and we could not have asked for better service.
The position is with in easy reach of the old town as well as the citadel.
Very charming family hotel located in the beautiful old town. Great breakfast, comfortable beds and the staff had a good English level (which is hard to find in France). They had prepared a bed for the dog and left a bowl for water. 😍
I booked the hotel as an overnight stop on my road trip to Spain. I got a nice room with all the stuff I needed. The breakfast was alright, I was only surprised by a lack of any vegetables whatsoever which would be nice.
Very fast and easy check in. Exactly what you expect, when you need a good night's sleep on your way to the south of france. Water pressure in the shower was amazing, almost like a massage!
