Large village in a steep sided valley with walks from the village possible, although better to drive up to the starting point of a huge range of alpine walks. Big centre for road and mountain biking. Unfortunately also very popular with motor bikes which can go around in ridiculous large groups. Several restaurants in the village, some only open in the latter half of the week/week end when we were there in September.

Super village centre hotel opposite the church. Rooms either in the main building or in a nearby building.
We had room 4, quirkily appointed but had all the facilities and a view to the church. The room is described as a small double, and it is. For an overnight stop, it was adequate.
Bikes are locked into a garage with half hourly access.
There is some parking which quickly fills but more is available up the street.
There is a cafe/ restaurant on the ground floor which serves delicious food and a super breakfast.
Hotel is very clean and welcoming. The staff is lovely and makes you feel at home. They offered us a garage to store our motorbikes and this is a huge plus for us. Food is excellent! WiFi is great too. Highly recommended.
Located at a walkable distance from Beaufort, the studio has everything you need for a peaceful stay. The sheltered and private large deck in front of the studio with a large table was very pleasant.
