A lovely town, and close by for visitors from south east England. The authentic Flemish atmosphere is charming. Fast trains to Paris mean it could be used a a base for visits to the capital.
First world war battlefields are close by, if you are interested in this, but it is of course very sad.

Despite the rain, Arras has amazing history and wonderful architecture.
The two squares the Grand Place and Hero Place, were completely destroyed in WW1. It is totally amazing that they have been 100% restored to their former glory. Plenty of restaurants but most closed on a Monday evening when we went in October.

Arras is a typical French town with a lovely town square and a good variety of shops. The square has a nice selection of restaurants. When we stayed the was a market with a varied selection of stalls, fresh vegetables, cheese, clothes and the usual imported products that find their way into every market.

don't stay at the Brit Hotel i felt threatened and unsafe as a lone traveller - its on an industrial estate - square and the architecture is amazing everything is easy to get too and it is beautiful i was staying in the area to visit my great-grandads grave at the war grave cemetery - there are lots of memorials to visit and the War graves commission working museum is a must its fascination - two free buses to travel round the town one going one way and the other going in the opposite direction - you will feel like a local within two days

Room was very clean and comfortable, lots of choice and good quality breakfast, Hotel is located in the centre of Arras close to the main squares and numerous bars & restaurants. Car park is located beneath the hotel and has direct access to reception.
Location of the hotel very close to the centre of Arras and the Place des Heros. Despite having been extended the extension maintains the style and feel of the old part of the building. Breakfast buffet very good. All staff very friendly and helpful
Really comfortable studio apartment with large bathroom.
Quiet street but only 5 mins walk to the station and 10 mins into the city centre.
Free parking on the road outside.
A great place to stay for exploring the area in and around Arras.
