A stroll along the promenade, stopping for a morning coffee at the many restaurants, followed by a seafood lunch. A visit to the gardens was fascinating as was the architecture of the "old Town". Shopping was incredible with many niche shops.
Eating out was difficult because there were many quality restaurants to choose from!
The town was immaculately clean and is one we will definitely return to.

We attended a wedding in Arcachon and did not experience the town for what it is, a beach resort town. We enjoyed the vibe of the town in the busiest month of August for Arcacon the beaches were packed with people, mainly French, not many foreigners. The attraction of Arcachon lies in the protection of the beaches from the Bay from the rough Atlantic. This is a local affair for people wanting to enjoy a relaxed, warm beach day without having to make the trip to south of France such as Niece.

Arcachon was a lovely town deserving of several days. Visiting the largest sand dune in europe was a treat. Great resteraunts, great vibe, and a wonderful beach. Great family town, with wondeful architecture though the city is not ancient in the european sense but still has some lovely old mansions around town.

A beautiful town, very clean, lots of shops, bars, restaurants. A lovely outdoor market on the sunday morning and a fabulous indoor market with lots of french produce. The buildings were nice to look at and very clean. Alcoholic and soft drinks in the bars and restaurants were expensive. The seafood on offer was fabulous but again, expensive. We loved our visit and wished we had booked for longer. Parking expensive 30 euros a night.

We have been told to visit Arcachon , so we did. We hired a boat to see the area differently. Highly recommend you do this, as we saw other sights we wouldn't have seen without a boat. Pierre was our skipper and he was excellent. Arcachon has a lovely seafront to walk along, you have the shops a road behind. Must visit were the sand dunes. Amazing

Loved the town centre and beach areas. Very calm, clean, well maintained area with little traffic. Lots of different beach areas, some with activities for children and others which were almost empty. Plenty seating along the promenade. Many and varied eating and drinking options. Very reasonably priced oyster and wine formules in the market hall.
Found the two hour trip around the bay to be tedious with little to distract me. Possibly better to take the scheduled ferry to Cap Ferret.

Fabulous new apartment. Spotlessly clean and a very comfortable bed. In a quiet location on the outskirts of Arcachon with easy access to everything. The hosts were extremely friendly and very helpful at checkin advising us on local places to eat and visit. Easy parking next to the apartment and bikes available to rent if needed. Highly recommended.
A nice 2nd floor apartment within walking distance of the central area. Larger than some with an enormous balcony. Well equipped, comfortable bed and the luxury of a bath - bliss! Parking on street, plenty of space on quiet residential road.
