The staff were so helpful. My room was fantastic and so comfortable. There are 3 restaurants within the domain and the one I went to the hotel book for me, and it is a 3-minute walk from the hotel I was staying in. All the staff in the restaurant were so accomadating and the atmosphere was just so relaxing after a long drive. Buffet breakfast at the Ibis in the morning was fonomable, spoiled for choice. Secure parking, which is a must for anyone traveling. It was a 15-minute walk into the center of
Aix les Bains, which is a positively a bubbly town. I will be back. 😀😀😀😀👏👏👏👏
The hotel is located on Lake Bourget shores, a 7-minute drive from Aix-les-Bains city centre and is surrounded by countryside and mountains. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property.

The town itself has a lot of nice restaurants - we tried L'évasion and could strongly recommend it to others for it's mix of local products and Mediterranean cuisine. There is a pedestrian area where there are some nice terraces and a few interesting shops - the road traffic around this area is intense, noisy and smelly. Of course there is the riviera area around the lake Bourget which is very picturesque and offers lots of water activities in season. Nearby there is a beaufiful, challenging golf course with a clubhouse restaurant which has been there since 1895.

The photos of this hotel do not accurately reflect the rooms, which were small, dark, dingy, with chipped paint and a small out of date shower. The restaurant had plastic chairs and tables. It does face the lake, but the rooms are over priced. When we complained management said to booking dot com that we did not show, evidently not true. Would not recommend this hotel.

Interesting hillside town. Lots to do.
Interesting hillside town. Lots to do. There is a great lakeside cycle path. We rented e-bikes from Takamaka Sports. They were in great condition and the young staff member who served us was very helpful. Walking around the town is pleasant and there is a good selection of restaurants.

The town is a lovely, clean and elegant.
The town is a lovely, clean and elegant. There were plenty of restaurants serving excellent food. The main part of the town is on the terrace which meant that there were hills to walk up and down. Most of the buildings date back to the turn of the last century but were very well maintained and gave the town a pleasant feel. There were plenty of green spaces.
There was an open-air theatre in the park with tea dances in the afternoon and other activities and a larger arts centre. There is a casino in an interesting style, with art nouveau and art deco features.
The town centre is more than a mile from the lake and although we walked on the first day, we discovered that it is easier to travel on the buses, which were frequent and reasonably priced with a flat fee.
The lake is pleasant with a tree-lined esplanade and plenty of activities, including paddle board hire, swimming and cruises.
We travelled by train. The station is at the bottom end of the town with a quarter of a mile walk to the town centre. There were frequent connections to Chambery and Annecy, as well as mainline connection to Lyon and other cities.

This is a lovely, gentle resort with plenty of things to do...
This is a lovely, gentle resort with plenty of things to do and nearby places to travel to, even for those without a car, like us.
There were plenty of restaurants, although it was best to book the night before if you want a table outside at a particular time.
It is a little hilly but not so much that it would compromise anyone with most abilities.
The railway station is close to the town centre, with good connections to Lyon, Chambery, Annecy and Geneva, amongst other places - rail travel is not expensive in France.
The lake is some distance from the town centre; over a mile and we found it best to take the bus. There are three to four an hour and it is easy to pay the 1.5 Euro fare by contactless card for each journey.
At the lake, you can take boat rides and cruises, or you can swim, hire paddle boards or even small motor boats.
The only drawback of the region is that there is not very much English spoken, although we coped with the few words of French that we have - we learnt more through the week!
There were outside performances in the part as well as tea dances, often with live music. It caters more for the older traveller and there is less to do for children.

This hotel is a little old fashioned in terms of décor and furniture, but it is a real gem. A 3-course high quality meal is available each evening at a very reasonable price, sometimes I only gave an hour's notice of my intention to dine in, but the staff were most agreeable. The location next to a park is very good for the town centre, the railway station is less than a 10 minute walk away.
The receptionist was very professional and helpful. Definitely an asset to the hotel. The room was perfect for our needs and the location was central, thus close to all amenities.
Big hotel with lots of parking, next to a wooded area to walk in, but only a 20-25 minute walk into the centre. Friendly helpful staff and decent room size.
