What can I say! This was my 4th stay at Sahanlahti and as every time, my only big mistake was to have stayed just 1 night. The location by the lake is just beautiful, the rooms are so well done and have a friendly, welcoming vibe, the staff are helpful, the breakfast on a terrace in the morning is a treat. During the day there are other people around visiting the facilities, and there is a small harbor for a few boats, but it all comes together to being one place of life and relaxed enjoyment and nature. For me, it does good to my stressed soul every time I stay there. Highly recommended.

Nice little corner of the lakeland area. Great for nature walks and water activities. The whole area felt very peaceful and I hope we can come back another time. On the Saimaa geopark website you can find some nice walks and things to do in the area but if you like forests and lakes and quiet surroundings you’ll be good here no matter where you go.

Pia is an exceptional host. A stay at Rantapappila is a real treat. I liked the many bath products, the free sauna, the terrace, the garden view, the chats with the other Finnish guests, and especially the possibilities to enjoy the environment of Puumala. There is so much to do and to experience: Norpapolkku, Nestorinranta, Niinisaari, Saimaa Canoeing, Sahanlahti,…we were glad we had booked for six nights.
We loved the location of the cottage- a snowy retreat in a heart of Puumala. The view from the cottage is stunning. A lake and bbq place is right next to the cottage.
Wooden sauna and a fire place made our stay cosy and gave a true sense of cabin life feel:)
Location was perfect and very peaceful. There was a pier to jump off from and also a little beach. There were also boats you could take to go into the lake.
It’s very close to Puumala by car, where there are supermarkets and restaurants. Overall 10/10.
The dinner here was outstanding ! We were here at the end of the summer season so many things were closed but the kids enjoyed the paddleball court and we enjoyed walking around the property and hiking around Puumala.
