Perfect location on the lake, unfortunately we could not take advantage of it because we arrived very late and had to move on right away the next morning. The owner of the hotel was very friendly.
We did not expect so much here on the Russian border, but we were amazed. The interior of the guest room was very cozy and there was a very nice Russian-like atmosphere.
A wonderful, historic hotel that served me very well as a base for a few days of remote work, birdwatching, and relaxation on the lake. Within easy reach of Parikkala, Siikalahti, and Punkaharju. The caretakers were very friendly, even allowing me to use a spare router to make sure I had strong enough internet to work.
The place was really close to the
Parikkala Sculpture Park.
There was also a fish smokehouse and a fish shop in connection with it.
A coffee maker and a kettle were found in the room. There was a microwave in the hallway.
Very friendly host, that arranged us a tasty soup dinner although we arrived after the kitchen was closed.
