We loved everything. It was close to everything in downtown Mariehamn. The rooms were modern and well kept. The breakfast was excellent. But what sets this hotel apart is the staff. We arrived on a ferry at 7:00AM and though our checkin wasn’t until 3PM they were kind enough to give us an early check-in. And on departure our ferry was leaving at 2:20PM so they gave us a late check out. It was wintertime so perhaps they had more flexibility but the staff had a can do attitude. We would highly recommend this hotel to future guests.
Located a 5-minute drive from Mariehamn city center, Strandnäs Hotell offers traditionally decorated rooms with a TV and private bathroom. The ferry terminal is 2.2 mi away.
Located next to the Pommern Museum Ship in Mariehamn, this hotel features indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and a garden terrace. A well-equipped gym is available for guests free of charge.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The room had a nice view of the Pommern ship and was very warm.
Located only 984 feet from the waterfront in central Mariehamn, Hotel Pommern offers WiFi and free private parking on site.

The staff was outstanding. Dinner was held open as we checked in late.
We had a very early departure and they give us coffee and also offered a breakfast bag.
Would absolutely go back in the future.

Skördefesten ’Harvest Weekend’ is September is a great time to explore Åland. Maritime history is very interesting. Enjoy supporting the local businesses & people with their fresh produce and handcrafted wares.

It was a very cozy and modern city at the same time. The last time I was there, was 20 years ago, so many changes had taken place! I recommend the museums, they are worth a visit. Also, the city library is very nice.

It is one if the coziest and most accecible places I’ve been. The city is clean and people are very nice. The most amazing place I’ve visited there was Åland culture musuem. You can try one of the most delicious thai foods in Khun mom restaurant.

Historical sights on the island - almost everything on the island is no more than 30 mins. drive from Mariehamn. The island has a sense of uniqueness and it's very silent and peaceful. Åland is a dream destination for anyone interested in maritime matters. It was pity that all the ancient middle age churches and the Mariehamn church were closed during the day time although many school classes and cruise passengers were in town and on the island. However, these sights are probably easier to visit during the proper summer. Remember to eat the Åland pancakes, available for instance in the oldest wooden house of Åland in Mariehamn.

It is a charming city with kind people.
We visited Maxinge shopping center and ate one of the best pizzas in a long time in a Diablo pizzeria, which felt authentically Italian (from one that grew up on Italian) in so many ways. A trip would have been worth it just for it.
Many lovely places for charming walks around the city and area.

Aland is a great place full of nature.
Aland is a great place full of nature. Mariehamn is nice, but I mostly enjoyed the nature. My favourite place in Mariehamn was the vista point from Badhusparken. Further, I visited Saltvik, Kastelholm and Eckerö, all reachable by bus from Mariehamn.

Friendly staff, modern and clean rooms. Breakfast is good quality. There's an availability to use a sauna and a pool in the mornings. The hotel restaurant is good, and pub has live music on Fridays and Saturdays. Location is great, in central Marienhamn, free parking provided.
Nice place, close to the town center but Mariehamn is indeed a very small town.
Apartment was nice and clean, and the host was very pleasant and helpful
