Lapland Arctic Cabins is in a fantastic spot, just a 10-minute stroll from the city center. The surroundings are absolutely stunning, with the cabin nestled on the shore of a huge lake that was frozen in December.
There’s a restaurant nearby, and they’re finishing up their own restaurant soon.
Milla, the host, was super friendly; she even lent our daughter a sleigh:-) Since we got there late, they offered to take us to a restaurant if the nearby one was closed. If we ever go back to Lapland, we’d definitely stay here again!

In the winter, this town isn't convenient because of the road conditions from Rovaniemi and there are closer places to stay near the ski hills if that's what you want. In town, only a handful of restaurants are open and options are limited. There are plenty of supermarkets to get groceries though so you have other food options available. In summer, it feels like it would be a great small town to go explore Lapland when more things are open.

The location was far enough from the town of Kemijärvi for it to be completely quiet and give you a feeling of remoteness, but at the same time it was still only a 15-20 minute drive by car away from the main station. There were a beach and some nice places to hike nearby, overall the setting was idyllic and very beautiful.
The apartment was quite spacious with comfortable beds and reasonably fast internet.
The lady running the place was very nice and even offered us a lift to town when we were leaving.

The view of the river with the colorful autumn trees was amazing. We saw the northern lights from the hotel courtyard. The hotel staff was willing to help us with anything we needed. I highly recommend it. Nice wood sauna.
The location is great! Surrounded by the beautiful Lake Kemijärvi. Breakfast is one of the best I have ever had: local fish, berries, and reindeer, among other traditional Finnish delicacies.
