Our stay at Hotel Uitonniemi was nothing short of magical! The host, Maija was absolutely exceptional, going far beyond standard service to make our visit unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed, and the thoughtful touches throughout our stay made it truly special.
One of the highlights was that we could use sleds for our son during the entire stay, which added so much fun to our trip. On the last day, the "Elves" surprised him with a personalized gift, which left him overjoyed and made our family’s experience even more memorable.
Breakfast was great with something new each day. Maija even adjusted the breakfast timing to fit our daily plans, which was super helpful.
The rooms were warm, clean, and had a lovely wooden finish that made them feel so cozy. Our entire family felt so at home here, and we hope we get a chance to visit this wonderful place again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a warm, family-friendly stay!

In the winter, this town isn't convenient because of the road conditions from Rovaniemi and there are closer places to stay near the ski hills if that's what you want. In town, only a handful of restaurants are open and options are limited. There are plenty of supermarkets to get groceries though so you have other food options available. In summer, it feels like it would be a great small town to go explore Lapland when more things are open.

Costume service perfect, Lotta was so lovely with us, and the rooms are such clean and quiet, the modern tv if you wanna use Netflix, there are many supermarkets around the hotel. It was incredible! Thanks Lotta!
The location is great! Surrounded by the beautiful Lake Kemijärvi. Breakfast is one of the best I have ever had: local fish, berries, and reindeer, among other traditional Finnish delicacies.
