Stayed once before and decided to come back as it was good the first time. And the second time did not disappoint. I like the overall ambience and feel of the hotel. The spacious lobby with chill areas and the restaurant next to it provide a working downshifting environment for me. The rooms are quiet and comfy. Breakfast has lots of different options and nice view to the river area. Next to the hotel is a parking building with electric car amenities.

My stay at the Scandic Joensuu was quite enjoyable. The hotel's central location is very close to train station and the University. The room was clean and comfortable, providing a peaceful night's sleep.
The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a wide variety of delicious options. The staff were friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my stay.
While the room size was a bit on the smaller side, it didn't detract significantly from the overall experience. Overall, I would recommend the Scandic Joensuu for a pleasant stay in Joensuu

I have been visiting Joensuu since 2012. In the winter season, the city looks very beautiful as it gets covered with a fantastic blanket of snow. The sight of the frozen river is just stunning! I love the city for its cozy and peaceful atmosphere and the kindness of the locals.

A small town in East Finland that has some good restaurants and local coffee shops but there is not much to do. The town is not touristic and there are not that many places to visit. However, the Botanical gardens are interesting and the Joensuu church is also worth visiting.

The city was big enough to provide all the amenities we needed without being too big. People were friendly. We could access anything within walking distance of the hotel. As cyclists, we were so happy to see so many bikes out even in winter!

The hotel is conviniently located between the railway station and the city centre. I had an issue with something in my room, and was prepared to give a lenghty explanation, but the receptionist found an immediate solution in an effective and helpful manner. This friendly "customer first" attitude makes me want to come back. The absolute highlight of the stay was the generous breakfast spread with a good, varied selection to choose from.
this was the best apartment stay ever. the apartment is fully equipped, there is nothing missing: there is detergent for the washing machine, tabs for the dishwasher, drying rack etc. it was easy to get the keys and find the address of the apartment. everything was spotless and the location great, close to the university and around 20 minutes from the train station. best choice for Joensuu!
I traveled with my children and ISLO Finnhostel Joensuu exceeded all the expectations! "family room" was indeed a small apartment with 2 bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom :). In addition, there was a big common room with games, toys, books, big TV and sports facilities. Breakfast was included and we could also reserve a sauna in the evening.
The hotel is right next to the center. There are plenty of restaurants around and a big supermarket. The room (on ground floor) was good but its location right next to a pedestrian street makes it necessary to close the curtains. You might want to ask for a higher floor.
Brand new apartment with perfect location: 1km to city centre, few km to mountain bike trails and straight from the apartmenr access to joensuu brilliant bike lanes.
