The hotel is beautiful, we liked the room very much. But much to my surprise tomorrow is very sparse. Otherwise, everything is very decent.

Friendly staff and quiet place to stay for the night.
This small, contemporary-style hotel is housed in a charming 19th-century building in the historic center of Zarautz. It lies just off the beach of this pretty Basque resort.

The walk on the Camino del Norte between Zarautz and Zumaia...
The walk on the Camino del Norte between Zarautz and Zumaia (or in reverse) is a great half-day activity, if you are up to some steep hills. You get beautiful views and it is quite well signposted. There is also the option to walk alongside the coast, avoiding hills, I've not done that one myself.
Zarautz has quite a few bars with Pintxos in the town centre, a lively, friendly feel.

I loved sitting and enjoying the view on the seafront, and also walking on the lovely long promenade that stretches all the way to the next town along the coast!
Zarautz is a lovely, quiet place and we had a really good time there. We are vegetarians and finding veg food is a big challenge in this part of Spain where every bar and restaurant has pintxos - all with meat or fish in them except the potato omelette!! By this time we had overdosed on the potato omelette and it was such a relief to come across Taberna Euskalduna where the enthusiastic staff gave us a delicious veg dinner at 7pm (most restaurants only open their kitchens at 8pm which is later than the dinner time we are used to!)

Zarautz is gorgeous with the promenade parallel to the beach. The beach is filled with activities and was our favourite place to spend the daytime. We enjoyed a beautiful hike to the picture spot 'Mollarriko begiralekua' and another to Getaria. Zarautz is a lovely town with plenty of places to eat and go for drinks in the evenings. Our favourites were a grill bar called Aka'ula (lots of GF options) and Hotel Alameda. Beautiful San Sebastian is just half an hour bus journey away, however, I would plan the buses in advance as arriving at the bus stop can mean waiting there for over an hour for the right bus to not turn up.

Thé hotel was excellent value for money.
Thé hotel was excellent value for money. Everything was clean and of a good quality. Staff were helpful and welcoming. It is close enough to walk to the old time where there are some excellent bars and restaurants.
Two points to improve the hotel . The windows do not have any safety features and could be dangerous especially for small children. We did point this out to the reception but the response was indifferent. The arrangements for breakfast need to be clarified so that you understand if you are having a continental or full breakfast.

Very pleasant seaside resort, easy to navigate and most places are within walking distance from the centre, very good public transport links too should you want to go further into the surrounding area.beach spotless, well run and safe. Long stretch of sand, plenty of room for both lounging or watersports. Good selection of restaurants, cafes, surf shops, beach supply kiosks and bars. All quite tasteful. Away from the beach there are so many interesting and historical buildings, winding narrow streets, parks, well worth a stroll as each corner turned throws up something unexpected. A good place to unwind.

Great beach destination in the Basque Country.
Great beach destination in the Basque Country. Holiday place for many Spanish families with double residences from Madrid and other parts. Known for its beautiful sandy beach and surfing conditions, as well as its great Restaurants and Pintxos Bars.
Itzi was a fantastic, attentive, friendly host. Zarautz is a lovely town with a nice, safe beach. The apartment is very close to the beach and the centre. It had everything we needed for our short stay, even umbrellas for the rain.
We had a perfect overnight stay in the lovely agroturismo Argoin Txiki (Zarautz). If you’re ever near, you should definitely check it out. Thanks for the good care and perfect breakfast, Naroa andereñoa!
It couldn’t be better. Unbeatable location, amazing views overlooking zarautz, astonishing interior design. Great services, very neat and clean. We will repeat.
