Everything was what we could have dreamed of. The view getting there and once on the spot is just breathtaking. The small chamber is cozy and well equipped. Miguel and Rachael are what every host should be. You feel part of the family staying there. There was not any way we could've started our trip on a better feeling.

We enjoyed our stay in El Nido very much. Everything we needed was there. The jaccuzzi was a great plus (one of the reasons we booked this accommodation and amazing to watch the sunrise from the there). There was a very cute cat family with 2 kittens that welcomed us and kept us company. Made our stay extra nice.

The place was very clean and recently refurbished as it shows in the pictures. The check-in and check-out were very easy-going, the property management very nice and responsive.
The location next to Cruz de Tejeda and the view must be wonderful by clear sky and good weather. We could still enjoy the mountains a lot and hike out of the fog and clouds just by descending a few hundred meters.

A very comfortable stay in a peaceful rural setting. You need a car for access, parking is guaranteed. In the accommodation, everything worked flawlessly, enough equipment in the kitchen, all utensils for cooking, washing dishes. Soap, shampoo, shower gel in the bathroom...
The apartment is new in a renovated older stone house. There is enough space in the apartment for a family of 4.
The accommodation is on the ground floor, the owners live above you.
The owners are friendly and caring. They have 2 friendly dogs.
You can also use a hot massage bath.
I recommend the accommodation to couples who want peace and relaxation.

Iballa met us with the keys and gave us some information about places to go. She was really accommodating and professional to deal with. The whole property was spotlessly clean. The kitchen had all utensils you could need, it was perfect for cooking and barbecueing. It was exceptionally quiet and in a beautiful location above a valley. There were sun loungers and towels for them as well as bathroom towels. Yhe pool is a decent size for a private pool. The TV had netflix capabilities.

Everything was good, the host was very nice and helpful.
Wonderful cake shop right outside apartment. Lovely restaurant opposite the church. Supermarkets in walking distance. Central location to visit the wonders around. You must go up here as completely different to the coastal resorts. We loved it and had amazing weather and locals very friendly. We treated two lovely old ladies to there dinner. They said they would never forget us...awwwww

We wanted a base, away from the very touristy south coast...
We wanted a base, away from the very touristy south coast resorts, that would enable us to explore the island's mountains, and its historical and cultural attractions by hire car. Vega de San Mateo turned out to be a delightful hill town, which was big enough to provide everything we needed (such as two big supermarkets, interesting shops, restaurants and bars). The town really felt like it was for the local people - with only a few visitors and tourists. That made it perfect for us!

Vega de San Mateo is a rural place in the mountains of Gran Canaria. Great to walk in the mountains and make a visit tot Pico de las Nieves, Roque Nublo en lovely small villages such as Tejeda, Artenara and Las Lagunetas.

Gateway to amazing hiking. The town itself is ok. Good selection of restaurants and grocery stores. The roads around the area are very scary to drive on. Extremely narrow in places with tons of curves and hairpin turns.

Great location, nice host and amazing heated pool and whirpool. The weather wasnt too nice the second and third day but we were lucky on the first to enjoy the view and the pool.
According to the guy working there we should have stayed in the Junior suite but we were given the Pool House which it was fine considering it wasnt high season. Otherwise it would have been a real nightmare to open the door and have people sitting right in front of your window the whole day and evening.
Also the apartment had a 1square meter toilet with a tiny little glassdoor open above and below which made me and boyfriend shared way too much during the private moments people would have in a normal toilet with a normal door. Be ready to smell more than you want from your partner. Also if you are talker than me (1,55) you will have to pee and do the other things wit open doors. Sorry, but this really has to be taken into account before you book. The rest is great so if tou are open enough (or lucky to get one od the other apartments with normal doors) you will have a great relaxing time here!
Tip: no convenient store nearby so you’d better come with a car for anything you might need (pharmacy or grocery) as San Mateo is ca. 15min by car.

Absolutely fabulous apartment. Very comfy, clean and spacious. Nice decor. All rooms had tv. Very smooth check in and out. Perfect location in the centre and in the beautiful Vega de San Mateo. Directly opposite dulceria. We also had some cakes waiting for us to try :-) You can't park in front of the apartment but it is not a problem as there is a lot of free spaces on nearby streets.
Finca Torres is located 2,5 km far from center of Vega de San Mateo. House is above the town, on one of the green-capped mountains surround the town, in the heart of the island. There is quiet and you can hear voice of nature. Excelent view is as a standard with household here. And delicious food for breakfast you get there such as: oranges, eggs...
Well this nice and really quiet remote place in the mountains fully matches the description but of course if you look for a luxury hotel this would not be the destination.
Had the luck to be the only guest for one night in a room with 4 bunkbeds.
