El Cotillo is a great place is you want a bit of relaxation and recuperation. If you want nightclubs and sports bars you're in the wrong place. There are loads of bars and restaurants and some live music in the evenings but the pace is way more sedate than in the resorts.
It's a great place for a day visit if it's not your idea of somewhere to stay.

A pleasant little town. Some nice restaurants and bars. Not too lively so don’t get any of ‘ the idiot crowd’. Easy to walk from one end of town to the other. Beaches absolutely fantastic! The water crystal clear and warm. A great place for ‘ a chill break!’

Plenty of restaurants and cafes, some looking out over the sea, as well as a small selection of good shops for browsing. There are a couple of supermarkets - Super Dino is very good.
El Cotillo is not too large, so it feels intimate, and authentic, even though there are a lot of tourists. Although there is a lot of building work going on - it's growing fast. Hopefully it won't grow to become another Corralejo.
The French bakery, and Triton lounge were our favourite places for coffee or lunch - both have superb food, and are very trendy.
From the town, you can walk south for the long, mainly sandy beaches (watch out for a proliferation of surfers!), or north, to the light house and beyond, where the coast is mostly rocky.

Visited every January for 20 years! Loved the quiet village feel for many years, but now is getting busier with lots of development going on. Still no traffic lights or queues of traffic.
Beautiful beaches on both sides.
Best pizza La Concella in Lajares. ( off small roundabout)

The best value Tapas is near to Spar supermarket across the square in El Cotillo.
Lots of lovely places for lunchtime drink. Very relaxing!

Cotillo is a really nice unspoiled town with a genuine feel, where locals still live - it is not a resort.
There are a lot of really good places to eat, cafes to have breakfast, and all very reasonably priced.
The town can easily be walked around as it is compact.
Parking is easy everywhere.
Some nice beaches can be walked to, and a short drive away (on dirt tracks) are other lovely beaches for swimming or bodyboarding/surfing.
There are good value surf and bike hire shops.
Sunsets directly off the seas are beautiful here

A village with plenty of bar/restaurants.
A village with plenty of bar/restaurants. My wife uses a mobility scooter and although the newer part of town has dropped kerbs the older part has some and these can be on one side of the road, but not on the other. The whole area is very geared up to surfing. Some stunning sunsets can be seen.

The location is perfect, I think El Cotillo is one of the best places to get around the island of Fuerteventura. It’s not too crowded, not too small. Supermarket and restaurants are all very close, and also the beach is 5 min walk away. We also had to work from the apartment and it was very comfortable to do so. The living space with the kitchen is pretty big and we enjoyed cooking and spending our work days in the house. Melania, the host, has been super helpful with all the questions and issues we had.
We really liked the location and hospitality of the staff of the hotel. They were very friendly and helpful. Plus we had no issues with a later check-out. They also allowed us to leave ur store bought products in their fridges.
As already said the location is perfect, since it's located very central and close to Cotillo beach. Although located so central, the nights are quiet which is perfect for sleeping.
Exceptionally clean and spacious house with everything one could want for in a holiday and more. Conveniently positioned in the centre of town with easy access to the wonderful beaches and restaurants that El Cotillo has to offer. We stayed here for 7 days but really wished we could have stayed here for a lot longer, and we shall definitely be returning.
It was clean and had pretty much everything you would need in an apartment and more. All the bits that you would need for cooking, washing and laundering.
Very close to the old part of El Cotillo and a five minute walk to the main beach.
Sophie was a very helpful and lovely lady. She even met me off the bus.
I love the apartment. It was spotlessly clean. Luca was a great host. The apartment had everything we could have needed. I love the location in the heart of El Cotillo. The sea is on your doorstep with bars and restaurants all around you. The most beautiful beaches and the weather was so hot. We will be back.
