Super friendly welcome from Luisa, she insisted that I put our motorcycle in the garage, no charge!! Spotlessly clean throughout the hotel, the best and most comfortable bed of our trip so far. Also there is a jacuzzi to soothe the aching muscles!! Easy, short stroll to Sos too. Will happily return.
This atmospheric, historic hotel is set in a building dating back to the 18th century, located in amongst the narrow streets of the Medieval city of Uncastillo.

This is a perfect combination of ideal hotel in an amazing location.
Warm and engaging hosts, Dani and Valeria, welcome you. The place is simply, but classically and beautifully appointed, rooms are styled in a traditional and comfy way; all set in an incredibly lovely medieval village.
Evening and breakfast food is a perfect accompaniment - prepared and served by an engaging and warm team.
Casa La Iglesia is set within Uncastillo and offers views of the surrounding mountains. It offers rooms and apartments.

Very clean, overlooking a small river with a pretty terrace, Helpful on arrival (after phoning to announce our arrival) and willing to clean the room every day. Internet connection was superb. Most of the shops opened at 9.30 and Bar Cuidol seems to be the most popular, though the Projecta Uncastillo around the corner on the bend, sells local wines and foodstuffs and is also reasonably priced. The pool in Uncastillo is about 10 minutes walk away and well worth a trip though the restaurant there is not as good or varied as it used to be. The room is probably OK for an overnight stay - nothing more.

Large comfy room. Safe included. Good shower. Good views from the rooms at the front. Excellent breakfast. Evening meal is 3 courses of good, local food but you can have a burger on the terrace if you aren't that hungry. The restaurants in the town are very busy so you need to book.

I love this little town - I was whisked back to 1000 years ago and I walked and walked around - fascinating. I enjoyed every minute.
If you have time, eat at the Michelin restaurant called La Cocina del Principal. I was surprised that it was quite inexpensive - a glass if good wine was 4€ and the food was delicious.

The town is magical!
The town is magical! Visit Sos del Rey Catolico if you are looking for culture, relax, and, perhaps, great food. There are plenty of accommodations for all budgets. Things to do: first of all relax, take it easy and enjoy the views. Book a walking tour at the tourism office to learn about town’s history and visit the 13th century’s frescos at the Church crypt. taje your car and meander the rest of the five villages from there.

We were passing through and stayed one night.
We were passing through and stayed one night. Bearing in mind this is February and many things are not available, two nights would have been better. If you enjoy the countryside then walking would be super in the surrounding area. A longer stay would then be better.

Sos is a great place, a beautifully restored medieval hill top village. The tourist information office in the Palacio de los Sada (in which Ferninand of Aragon was born) organizes guided walkarounds (for a really small fee) which are very interesting.

This little Medieval town is like a time warp!
This little Medieval town is like a time warp! It seems as If nothing much has changed for a thousand years!
We decided to spend the night in Sos del Rey Católico to break up the drive between San Sebastian and Barcelona.
There is not a ton to see or do, but for us it was a great, quiet road-trip stopover.

Great stay for visiting Sos del Rey. On site parking makes it easy, vs staying in town. This was early in the year, the hotel was not open for dinner and the old town is quite deserted at night, we only found one place open. (Possibly others open in the old town square). Breakfast is good, quality cold selection at fair price. One tip: great view of the old town - the sunrise is spectacular from the hotel rooms. Watch the old town change from blue and night, to orange and then golden as the sunrise comes
It is perfectly located in Sos, parking is on the street just outside the hotel.
The whole town, including amenities, small shop, several bars a lovely bakery, post office and on the day we were there a small market, is right on the door step and is a great place to explore.
We had a delicious traditional breakfast, proudly served to us.
The hotel was lovely. I liked the key code system. The location was great, but only if one has sturdy legs. Sos is on a hill and the streets are winding. We could park about 500 metres away, but then schlepped up the hill.
