The hotel is modern, bright, and attractively decorated. Our room was large, bright and had a balcony with 2 chairs and a table. The staff are excellent - they spent time with us advising on where to go and to eat in the wider region. Breakfast offered a good range of Spanish, English and Cantabrian food.
Parking is in front of the hotel. It does get full sometimes, but there is public off-road parking quite near.
Lierganes is a delightful small town in beautiful countryside yet only half an hour's drive from Santander and, hence, a convenient stopover for both ferry and planes as well as being an interesting place to visit in its own right.

A member of staff on the ferry did say Solares was where you went to drink and I think, except for the luxury hotel he was right. Lots of drunk older men around..
Architecturally outstanding, amazing thermal spa of historical importance, sumptuous interiors. Lovely grounds and external terraces around pool setting. Good to see a garden kitchen. This was a fantastic stopover on the way to Santander ferry port. Excellent restaurants. Will definitely be back. My dogs loved it too, the hotel had thoughtfully provided a dog bed each in the room. Absolutely wonderful stay.
