Puerto Naos could probably be described as the main tourist beach on the island but compared to beaches on Tenerife, Lanzarote or Gran Canaria it has a very laid back feel. Toilets, showers and changing facilities are on the beach along with a couple of quaint beach bars. A greater choice for dining is only a few meters away on the main promenade.

Puerto Naos is a quiet family-friendly resort surrounded by working banana plantations, and backed by sheltering cliffs. It has a few bars and restaurants, but not much in the way of "night-life" except for cocktails watching the dramatic sun-sets. Lally's bar provided entertainment most nights; Orinoco restaurant has good value down-to-earth menu; Peurto Naos Beach Bar great for snacks and drinks any time of day/evening. Puerto Naos is undergoing major renovation project during Spring-Summer 2020 to improve pavements and roads, including a new bus-station, resulting in many streets being dug-up in rotation and car parking relocated to rough ground on outskirts of resort. When this is finished, the resort will be very smart.

Puerto Naos is a small resort with a fine sandy beach, life-guard supervised swimming and some good, reasonably-priced restaurants (fish especially delicious) . Although not especially lovely itself, it provides a good based for exploring the mountainous island, which is very beautiful indeed. Car hire or use of public transport is essential for getting out and about. Current building work and road closures are restricting the amount of on-street parking in the resort. However, there is a large, dirt car park on the edge of the development.
