Very friendly staff. Beautifull garden and environment. A bit from the center but very quiet and the hotel restaurant and bar is very nice. Easy to walk down to the pitoresque town (we went back with taxi - 7 EUR - to avoid the stairs way up). Nice to travel up with car to the Teide from here. Green side of Tenerife with view on the Teide.

It is a busy little Spanish sea side resort. You don't need a car if you are prepared to walk or take the bus. Buses are very reliable. There are a lot of restaurants and supermarkets etc... People are very friendly. Beautiful vegetation., and views etc..
We take the bus to La Laguna , Oratava, Santa Cruz, Garanchico etc...
We walk up in the mountains from La Caldera,, Barranca de Ruis etc...
You have to be fit and a good walker , but you can walk to town or even simply to the Botanic Garden

Puerto de la Cruz is warm all year round, the people are really friendly and there are loads of places to eat and drink. It is not as rowdy as the resorts in the South and for us it was ideal, there were very few younger people or children which suits our type of laid back holiday. Everything is easy to walk to and although we did not visit the beach it looks really nice. The Zoo is a lovely place to visit and there is a free road train to take you from the main town and back again. It is quite hilly in places so if you struggle with that then the place we stayed (Be Smar Apartments, Florida Plaza) is ideal, it is just a short 5 min walk to the town square, with very little in the way of hills. We visited just before Xmas and the place was very festive with decoration everywhere. The choice of restaurants is great, there is something for every budget and food preference.

The sea it’s advised not to swim because of contamination so if you like a beach holiday this is not the place to be, try El Medano in the south their beaches are lovely especially Tejina the sand is golden.
They also have a major problem with the sea defences which needs a lot of work to restore.
It’s a lovely coast to walk with beautiful gardens bordering the sea and the Martinez pools where the front hotels are but most hotels cater for the German or Spanish tastes and if you watch tv! It’s mainly those Chanel’s and French.

Puerto de la Cruz is a very relaxing town, plenty of great restaurants and bars. No beach but sea swimming is possible. Easy access to Teide national park. Whale watching available as a day trip. Good location for surfing, great walks along the sea front.

Great location for those looking for an alternative Tenerife experience. Great Spanish vibe with plenty of local restaurants and bars to choose from. Wonderful scenery. Only downside is no actual beach to swim from.

Stayed in 4Dreams and it was very well located just a couple of minutes walk from the main square. Toilet seat was broken, bathroom door wouldn't shut or lock, so was disappointed with the room as the last time we stayed here the room we had was very comfortable. There were no other rooms to move to so had to make do.

Considering that this is not a small hotel the quality of the hotel was exceptional. There was enough high quality choice during breakfast and dinner for one week stay. Hotel is super clean - rooms, garden and pool area are nice. With a small child this is an optimal choice. Easy parking by the street can be found nearby. There is a short drive to the mountains from here. I believe it is hard to find better option for one week stay in Puerto Cruz. Northern part of Tenerife is greener than south.
The location is perfect. Our room was very clean and spacious with fully equipped kitchen and an amazing view from the balcony over the pool, mountains and Teide. Very nice swimming pool and delicious food for breakfast and dinner. We also enjoyed warm atmosphere and live music in the evening. The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. It is possible to find parking places available outside the hotel. We would be happy to stay here again when we come back to Tenerife next time.
Located in Northern Tenerife's green environment, outer the big parties and festivals, HC Hotel Magec offers you a lovely place to stay with a great value for the money. I got a qualitative room service every day. The senior lady in the restaurant was very kind to me at every meal, she is a really gold-hearted hostess. Both breakfast and dinner are continental-type with a wide variety of popular (and sometimes local) food with smart spicing. I definitely would return.
