Good location, a bit out off the centre, so it is very quiet. Still, very close and easy access to the centre, restaurants and the sea shore. Super friendly staff, a roof terrace, small swimming pool, and an option for breakfast - very good, continental type. Breakfast is an extra but I loved the fact, that is always there when you need it.
Some rooms, or maybe the one I was staying in, are tiny. Only space for bed and a small table with a fridge under, plus bed-side table. There is a wardrobe with enough space for cloths, a suitcase and a bathroom. However small it is, I needed to have a good sleep, shower and toilet, breakfast in the morning for the good start of the day out, discovering the island.
Also, you can park a car on the street. Spaces are limited but in general I was able to get one.

We received an unexpected room upgrade with an outstanding view and plenty of space.
The gardens are gorgeous, and although the location may initially seem 'far' from the center, it offers the perfect balance between tranquility and proximity to the lively parts of the city.
As for visiting the island, the location is ideal, being relatively close to the must-see spots.
Breakfast was also nice, offering a wide variety to choose from.

This is definitely a place to spend some time. Many restaurants/ / bars with good food, great views, pleasant to walk around. Some local beaches and massive area with swimming pools. Not my cup-of-tea but I guess many visitors would like that. If you like eating by the sea and listen to its hum, there is something for your then.
Puerto has its own, beautiful, nearby special locations like the La Orotava or Los Realejos with an amazing beach Castro.
The only minus is a long way from the South airport. Going anti-clock wise, via TF5/TF2 (San Cristobal de La Laguna or if you like Santa Cruz) and TF1 it takes around 1 hour driving or taxi and this will cost you £99.
On the bus this will be much cheaper but it can take over 2 hours and more the one bus. The best option is to rent a car and go across the mountain. 2- 3 hours depending on the route but the twisty roads, splendid views and great places to stop for lunch or coffee are invaluable.

The pedestrian streets are exciting with restaurants and shops, and there are also quieter, calmer parts. Perfect for walking and wandering. Las Tejas Verdes offers delicious cocktails with traditional live music. I really liked Loro Parque.

Puerto de la Cruz is almost flat comparing with other cities on Tenerife. There are many places to eat, but all the places with standard dishes. To try canarian food need to take care and go to guanchinche - tradicional canarian restaurant.
Walk in the city itself very interesting. There several hiking path from Puerto de la cruz.
As on Tenerife there is a big problem with parking but in Puerto there is big municipal parking just next to the sea.

Puerto de la Cruz is a small town, nice people and with everything you might need to relax. We visit frequently for short brakes. Weather can be tricky so always carry a light jacket expecially during the evening. You can find hotels with prices on budget and luxury. The restaurants in the area are decent and prices are slightly higher then usual from other locations in Tenerife .

Good city to get a taste of northern Tenerife. Has the infrastructure for beach relaxations and at the same time attractions as Mount Teide, Cueva del Viento, Loro Parque, Santa Cruz are nearby.
Also the weather is milder that in the south, which is also a feature for people who do not like it when it is too hot.

The apartment corresponds to the offer. Perfect for our family. The apartment has all the equipment. Quiet street in the center of Puerto de la Cruz. Everything close, shops, restaurants, city beach, public transport. We like to walk around the city and often visit Loro parqe. To the beach at Punta Brava 15 min. on foot. We often visit Tenerife and we like this accommodation very much.
The sea view, helpful staff, cleanliness, relax, great selection of food for breakfast as well for dinner, soo wide and comfortable beds...everything was perfect, thank you so much!
Even there are only a few parking places right next to the hotel, you always find some free area within walking distance. So rent a car and explore Tenerife :-)
Location. Amazing view if you choose room with balcony and sea view, totally worth the extra euros. Hotel has a rooftop 6 floors above McDonald's with huge potential to become a chill/ happening bar- terrace with one of the best views in Tenerife. Quality of breakfast buffet was good.
Everything was perfect. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was really good. The pool was great and the room was absolutely perfect for a summer holiday. We were in "My favorite club", and it was the best choice. We truly could recommend Alua Tenerife!
This is probably one of our top hotels in Tenerife. It's adults only, all of the rooms have great sea view, fun lights in the rooms and roof terrace is just brilliant with jacuzzi for guests and sun beds. There's also a SPA (although at extra cost) worth visiting.
