Playa Blanca is the newest, and arguably quietest, large resort on Lanzarote, which makes it popular with families. It is partially sheltered from the Atlantic winds by the dormant Montaña Roja volcano, and volcanic rock lines its sandy beaches which are spread around a bay.
There are 3 main beaches: Playa Dorada which is popular for watersports, Playa Blanca – the most peaceful, and Playa Flamingo which is overlooked by shops, bars and restaurants serving locally caught seafood. Further east the long stretches of sand give way to the rocky Papagayo Coves whose beautiful scenery is depicted on many a postcard.
A promenade linking the 3 beaches is lined with luxury hotels and resorts available on Booking.com, many offering all inclusive options and some even have their own water park. There are also lots of cheap apartments and private villas in Playa Blanca, some of which overlook Marina Rubicon. The Castillo de las Colorados watchtower sits on a rugged piece of headland looking across the Atlantic Ocean towards the hilly terrain of Fuerteventura.
Ferries to this neighbouring Canary Island depart from just across the bay and offer beautiful views back across the whitewashed buildings towards the mountains behind Playa Blanca.

Playa blanca is a quiet resort, mainly catering for older people and young families, although there is also a variety of pubs having entertainment. Lovely promenade for long walks and a pleasant up market marina with nice shops and restaurants. There is a very good variety of different types of accommodation, with some excellent hotels.

there is a good promenade all the way from west of Flamingo beach to an area East we didn't explore. There is another smaller beach right in town if that is where you're staying, and another well rated one further East. Lining this are cafes and restaurants serving international, including Asian cuisine as well as Spanish. We ate mainly tapas and had an excellent mixed paella. It was buzzing and friendly. We soon worked out good places to park for eating and shopping. If your accommodation in near town you don't need a car, but we wanted to explore a bit so had a hire car from the airport which was worth it and reasonable, We will come back.

The coastal walkways were great with plenty of shops and restaurants. The beaches looked nice. The ferry to Fuerteventura was good value and regular. We hired a car and there were plenty of places to visit within easy reach on the island.
The MYND hotel we stayed at looked good on the face of it and the communal areas (pools, gardens etc) were great but the construction and fabric of the actual building was poor. The sound insulation in the apartments was practically non-existent. We could hear everything from adjoining apartments - the loos flushing, the showers running, people talking late into the night and early in the morning which meant sleep quality was poor.

Beautiful property in a quiet, out of the craziness of Playa Blanca location. Very serene and pristine. Gorgeous pool. Spacious rooms.
The breakfast was spectacular. The food at the bar was amazing. We did not eat dinner there, but wish we had. The service was really fabulous. Immaculate rooms and hotel. The value was outstanding. Highly recommend.
A very warm welcome, bright and modern hotel with a refreshing floral aroma in reception and other areas. Javier and team provided excellent service at breakfast and other purchases for drinks and snacks.
Location is excellent to walk into the marina and markets, a longer stroll into playa blanca which is a reasonable walk along the front.
The apartment is big. Living room and balcony with 2 sofa beds. Main bedroom is big. Clean, well maintained and basic. Kitchen had everything needed. This is a TUI blue resort. Right on the beach, lots of hotels and pubs nearby. Great value £150 for 2 nights. I’d rate it higher than 2 stars.
Lovely hotel, with the most fabulous pool. For what you pay, it really is a steal. It's spotlessly clean. Comfy beds, good breakfast options, great hairdryer in the room. Good location for playa Blanca.
