This is a converted palace. The room I had was quirky with a small outside seating area behind a grill. The dinner fixed menu we felt was excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The town is amazing. No idea how old it is, but the main square alone is worth the visit.

Alcantarra is breathtaking to drive up to when you come towards the Roman bridge. This hotel is a lovely complement to that. Staff are all friendly and rooms are nice, spacious and clean. The building has some lovely history also, but I would say the location is its strongest point.

Last minute booking the hotel didn't open until 7.30 but a beautiful hotel after getting in everyone in a group of eight wanted to stay a second night but booked out great value for money and great dinner and breakfast and a fantastic host
