We lived in Arguineguin. It is quite nice place, not too much touristic, has many places to eat, several beaches for everybody taste and not overcrowded. Also good with families with children - many playgrounds all around. Puerto Rico is more touristic and Puerto de Mogan is very photogenic, really nice but very touristic place. One beach, quite crowded.

Puerto de Mogan is very beautiful.
Puerto de Mogan is very beautiful. I recommend climbing up to the observation deck, walking along the picturesque streets near the marina and drinking Prosecco at sunset. The sandy beach is not bad but has no changing rooms or showers. It is possible to taste sea cuisine there too, but you need to choose an institution carefully - you can get to an expensive place with a claim to Michelin and leave disappointed with food and price. It is quite possible to stay there for 3 days.

There are a lot of stairs .we had to take three lifts to get to our room. Once up there it was ok. But most days one of the lifts were out of order. So walking up three flights at the age of 80 plus.not good!! Swimming pools nice but overcrowded. So being able to go down to the beach on the free bus was perfect. Food and drink available,with friendly staff. Also very clean.

Puerto Mogan is a small resort with good shopping and a wide range of varied restaurants together with an attractive Marina and a safe, well protected beach.
Our favourite restaurant was Caraveccio just off the Marina with Billy's also worth a mention.
Everywhere was found to be within walking distance and the large market is worth a visit every Friday although it does become very busy on that day.
Good Ferry service to Puerto Rico, Anfi and Arguinegan

There is a smart resturant if you are looking for a treat.
Check times of the other resturants as some are closed in the evenings or on certain days.
If you have been up in the hills then Mogan is nothing special compared with any other village in gran canaria.. It seems that most of the people who love it have just come from Maspolomas for the day or afternoon. Therefore anything would be better!
There is a good walk to be done over the hill to another local village and back.
I wouldnt stay here again if I visit the island again.
