It was priced right and clean. I enjoyed the property as it was well kept..It was sad the room was outdated and dark but the cleanliness made up for it.

The hotel is beautiful and historic. The location is fantastic as it's right next to the old walled city and across the street from lots of restaurants and shops. We would definitely stay here again.

Working town - agricultural and furniture making - yet very relaxed and friendly. Easy to visit Caceres - and still enjoy the wildlife and natural environment of Los Barruecos and small town ambience. Loved Plaza with its canopy of umbrellas. Museum about the droving of huge herds of sheep between pastures is fascinating - though all captions in Spanish. Important museum/gallery in Los Barruecos.

Excellent location for breaking our journey from Santander to the Algarve - about half way(timewise). Very clean standard, no frills hotel. Very adequate three course dinner, with bread and a glass of wine for just 15eur. Our waiter, Juan, was brilliant. He put a note on our table welcoming us , translated into English , and was very friendly and helpful. We even got a handshake and kisses after dinner.
Our room at the back of the hotel was very quiet, had a nice view and we could see our car in the car park.
We take the ferry to Santander with our dog as then travel down to Andalucia. los Barruecos is the perfect stop for a couple of days. Dog friendly hotel with marvellous natural park and an international standard art gallery nearby - friendly town - nice walk round lake nearby. The staff in hotel bar / restaurant very friendly
New modern hotel - good place to stop en route to ferry - and pet friendly. Lovely big room at back. Friendly and helpful staff. Bonus was natural park Los Barruecos and also the large dammed lake /charca across main road - both peaceful spots for walks and full of birdlife. And of course the stork colonies.
The architecture of the historical house (with more than one century) and the history of the Malpartida de Cáceres, told by the sympathetic Paco!
The bed was very comfortable and the room is very spacious.
The breakfast was good and more then enough.
