the surroundings are very beautiful. the road to reach the hotel passes through woods and small groups of old houses. there are nature trails if you like walking. the hotel is a very large and renovated house, the exterior has the typical Basque architecture while the interior is very modern. there is a well-kept garden and a free parking. the rooms are new and large with big bathrooms but a little impersonal for me. breakfast is paid separately but is freshly made. there are information materials and relax area. we asked for an additional room after booking and it was given to us with a discount for individual use. we received good advice on a restaurant where we ate well within 10 minutes by car in the nice town of Orozko. the hotel is run by two sisters.
The modern rooms at the Silken Ciudad de Vitoria are set around an impressive lobby and charming interior garden with seating areas.

The location is excellent for a stay before catching ferry from Bilbao. Interesting city. Staff exceptionally helpful. Breakfast good, and dinner the previous evening had an improved menu compared with previous years.

The overall look of the hotel is fantastic, looks like a medieval palace, the rooms are very comfortable and the employees are very nice and helpful. The facilities have garage, a big dinning room and the breakfast was quite good.
It was unfortunate that I didn't have enough time to enjoy more the city and the hotel.
