Our fourth visit to this wonderful hotel and it won't be our last. Amazing views of Teide from the room, the sunny terrace and the dining room. It's a great base for exploring the National Park during the day and star gazing at night. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food was good with plenty of vegetarian options.
Boasting beautiful original décor, this charming hotel is centrally set in the oldest villa in the town of Orotava, surrounded by mountain scenery.

The building was quaint and old. The room spacious. It was quiet. Located in a convenient part of the old town. Owner was friendly and helpful.
The onsite cafe served a delicious, reasonably priced steak.

The apartment is really very authentic, art and comfortable. Tastefully done, I felt right at home. The building is very old, but well maintained, in the center of the town. The sheets were very soft, the bed super comfortable. It has everything you need, including a coffee machine. Great attitude from the owners. Thanks.
Featuring a garden, heated pool and pool views, Casa El Balcon Grande is located in La Orotava. Featuring sea and mountain views, this holiday home also offers free WiFi.

The view from the apartment was absolutely stunning, looking over the Orotava Valley down towards Puerto de La Cruz. The apartment was actually a house, originally built in the sixties and upgraded much more recently. Its ‘balcon’, gardens and swimming pool were worth a visit just on their own. The owner had left a photo album of the renovation works for visitors: pretty impressive.
Offering quiet street views, Apartamento Opuntia is an accommodation set in La Orotava, 7.5 km from Plaza Charco and 27 km from Leal Theatre.

The apartment is nice and comfy. Very close to a bus station, supermarket in 2 min by car. It's a very good starting point for most interesting places on the island.

Pleasantly busy with mainly locals and visiting Spanish speaking tourists, I really enjoyed not hearing English being spoken.
La Orotava is compact and easy to get around on foot with a number of places of interest including parks and churches.
I ate locally each evening and visited a number of cafes and bars serving basic but reasonably priced food.
As a base for visiting the North of the island it was perfectly positioned for me to enjoy a scenic motorcycling holiday.
There seemed to be a good local bus service if you didn't want the hiring/driving experience. I will return at some future date.

What a beautiful place.
What a beautiful place. We went during Corpus Christi week and experienced live music, festivals and all sorts of unexpected fun. Architecture was amazing, locals friendly. Roads very narrow so if you’re driving you need to be pretty confident. Good bus connections - we went to la Laguna for a day - easy to get bus but unless you want a sore bum go for the express!

A historical town with character.
A historical town with character. Has a lot of good architecture and period villas. Walking around the city gets you back to 18th, 19th century.
If you appreciate historic towns this one should not be skipped.
Bonus: La Orotava is one of the 3 access points to mount Teide so if you plan to go up towards the mountain it's a good place to set a base at.

This little city is just a little gem: beautiful overall, colonial style architecture, well preserved, magnificent gardens, far from the noisy mass tourism, elegant, full of flowers, amazing vue. I've visited the city many times last year and with Puerto de la Cruz, I think is by far the nicest area on the island. I left in the early morning and I could smell the flowers fragances everywhere on the air.

Lovely old town from which to venture out across the north and northeast/northwest of the island. Visited in November and the climate was lovely for eating out in the various plazas and gardens of the town at night. Everything is on a slope so not ideal for the infirm but we felt safe and had no issues navigating about the city centre.

The house and private gardens are lovely and the hosts very welcoming. It's not a fancy hotel, it feels authentic and lived in, which for us were big plusses. The location would be tricky if you don't have a car; we did and there was private off road parking too. It's a great spot half way up the mountain and once you've learnt the route, it's not tricky to head down to the coast. It was great to be given fruits from the hosts garden, very nice! We had a very relaxing time.
This house is cosy an just good enough for 2 persons. A lovely terrace with sea view. It was well equipped and everything was working. Close to the house is a very good restaurant. You can reach the beach by descending a path next to the banana trees (at this time this beach was closed due to safety reasons). You can hike right from the house to Puerto de la Cruz and la Orotava is nearby. Overall: an excellent spot to explore the north east, north west
PRO'S:
The location of the house is good, close to La Orotava and Puerto de la Cruz. The view from the outdoor space are beautiful and very relaxing.
There are two free parking outside the house and the check-in/ check-out have been flexibile and easy.
At a glance the open kitchen and living room looks like traditional canarian country house.
Great location for nature lovers and mountain climbers. Good hotel restaurant. A wide-screen TV is available in the hotel room, which can also be connected to a smartphone to view the taken pictures and videos.
Really clean hotel with comfortable bed. Nice view. The staff is the best tourist info.
Three places for the cars, but there is a huge, free parking in Orotava close to the hotel.
