Nestled in pine forests and next to the Gredos Sierra, this Parador is housed in a stone building dating from 1928. The terrace, library and elegant lounge look out over the lovely grounds.

The location is amazing, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The building is imposing, with many antiques. The room was quiet and had a rather large and well equiped bathroom. Dinner was very pleasant, good food and a nice atmosphere.
Located within a farm in the Sierra de Gredos, Hospedium Hostal Almanzor enjoys spectacular views of the mountains and surrounding pine forests.

Very welcoming. The owner is a keen birder and has created a hide within the guesthouse which visitors can access. There is also a lovely roof terrace with seating. The owner was very helpful and suggested a good walk for us which wasn’t too steep.

I chose El Retiro as an escape for one night, for the views of the mountains in the day and of the stars at night. This place did not disappoint. The covered terrace has fantastic views and features a tiny pool in which you can cool off. There is a nice sofa and tables and chairs to help you get comfortable on. Inside there is an airconditioned room with sofa and dining table and a small kitchen with fridge, microwave, hob, and sink. There is a shower and toilet in an adjacent room. There was a barbecue on site and a big bag of charcoal which we brought up from the storage area beneath the terrace. We brought our own barbecue tools with us - I don't recall the room having tools of its own. We cooked our meal on the barbecue between the end of the house and the natural rock - very romantic!

Great view of the Sierra de Gredos and starting place to drive to the Plataforma de Gredos. This is an easy way to experience high mountain landscape without having to climb yourself. If you wander off the beaten track (avoid Laguna Grande), you will likely see large herds of ibexes.
La Galana is a Slow Food restaurant with great food.

The service at the hotel was exceptional, complemented by a warm and welcoming reception. The property itself is stunning, perfectly situated for enthusiasts of the outdoors, especially those keen on hiking, as it is conveniently close to the Gredos Platform car park. This strategic location provides easy access to numerous scenic trails, making it an ideal choice for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty of the area.
Well, I truly came not expecting much from this place, considering so many not so good reviews. Basically what I could notice is that it's a simple quite old stay, and if you don't expect much, it will be fine. The shower worked good, and the check-in was also ok. You'll probably come by car to explore the region, but Hoyos del Espino is even walking distance. Nothing spectacular, but a good stay in general.
Great place to stay. I have been here a number of times an d enjoy the location and the atmosphere. The hotel is simple but good. Basic breakfast but it has all that is needed to go for a good hike.
