We prefer the Northern part of the island and even the south at Los Cristianos looks better. The hotel is surrounded by covered banana plantations that look like strange monoliths against a pitch black piece of land and the area altogether is not very pretty as it has some sort of industrial look.
There is a nice promenade in the close by San Juan with a much sought after restaurant called Agua Y Sale. You need a reservation otherwise it's almost impossible to get in. Food is good but being so pressured to accommodate lots and lots and lots of people they lack attention to details and some dishes are overcooked (shrimps, St Jacques). Beware at the size of portions: they are simply humongous. A dish of pasta or rice for 2 can easily feed 8 or 6 if that's all you order. Everybody leaves with a doggy bag but if you live at a hotel, this is useless.

This a great location to enjoy a few relaxed days away from the madness that Tenerife can offer. San Juan and the surrounding area is beautiful and developing great sea-side walks - think it is very suitable for couples and older visitors - does not have much on offer for families although we saw lots. The town is easily accessible from an excellent road infrastructure and a good launching pad to access other activities on the island. Wonderful friendly pubs and restaurants (many close early (10pm) when we visited in January and opening days rotate (at least two days closure is a requirements by the local administration. Town is kept very clean with nice walks beside the ocean.

It is a wonderful place hidden in a big and very beautiful garden. Here we could really just lay back and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, coziness and privacy. This was exactly the right place for us as we don't like large touristic complexes. The apartment has everything one needs, kitchen is very well equipped and we especially enjoyed the various seating options around the house. The host was very generous and always tried to fit our needs. We would definitely come again during our next trip to Tenerife.
•in general, I liked absolutely everything, every minute of our stay at the hotel we were exceptionally satisfied, there working kind and professional staff aimed at a positive solution to the problem, satisfaction of any request.
•really great restaurant , we visited many on the island (choosing only on good reviews) but Melvin is the best among the best.
thank you
Really great glamping with all the bits you need for a relaxing escape. Feels miles away from the noisy tourist parts of Tenerife and very relaxing. Pool area was lovely and breakfast was great. Easy to get around if you have a car.
Beautiful rustic house with modern touch! Perfect for little gateway on Tenerife. We loved our stay there and would definitely come back. As a group of friends we had a great stay. Thank you for great experience!
Fantastic stay, we loved it. The room was fantastic. Gym was the best hotel gym we have ever had. Pool area and staff wonderful. Breakfast was really wonderful- particularly the omelet station.
