Loved the location, staff could not be more helpful. Not the hotels fault but our own misunderstanding- just for people Information you do not stay in the lighthouse building it is the one before it.

Hotel Bela Fisterra, hotel in Finisterre

Set in Finisterre, 500 metres from Langosteira Beach, Hotel Bela Fisterra offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

Quirky building in an amazing location right on the beautiful beach and just a 15 minute walk into town along a good pathway behind the beach although we found a lovely authentic tapas restaurant and a cute pop-up bar almost next door in the other direction, we also walked up to the end of the Camino Trail from here which provides breathtaking views of the bay, clean modern room, private gated parking, really lovely hosts who even let me off the cost of a coffee cup breakage (thanks again!).

Fisterra is a quaint, small fishing town, with regular daily catches. So near the harbour is does smell of fish but many of the local restaurants have a great reputation for sea food. There are several great places to walk for the day; coastal paths, beaches (Fora, & Arnela) are a good walk (3-6 miles) but really worth it. Stunning scenery.

We had spent two weeks walking the Camiño and wanted to visit Finisterre for the sunset, the day trip timings didn’t work so we hired a car from the station in Santiago, drove 75mins, stayed the night and drove back to the airport the following day. It was the perfect end to our trip.

I felt compelled to go to the "end of the earth" where the ancients though that the spirits of the dead disappeared from the land and over the horizon, headed for whatever comes next. In Galacian this Camino is called "the Way of the Dead.) I thought I would see the ancient Roman lighthouse but it has long since been replaced by a functional one. The walk from Finisterra, however, is beautiful and the "end of the earth" worth exploring. Pretty town, too.

One of the most beautiful spots I have been to, a quiet town "at the end of the world". Will certainly return there! What I liked most: - not many tourists - good restaurants - beautiful beaches - Faro de Fisterra - a lighthouse with great ambiance - very nice traditional houses

Finisterre was the culmination of a coastal camino from Porto to Santiago, and we thought it was worth it. We were lucky to have sunny mild days, spectacular views and interesting walking paths. I'm glad we extended our walk.

Beautiful old harbour town, full of history.

Beautiful old harbour town, full of history. The town is on the small side, so I would not spend more than two days there. Great walk to the near Lighthouse...sunsets are magical, don't miss them. At the lighthouse they have a restaurant and a bar too, From Finisterre you have a great view of the bay and there is a beautiful beach near-by. The town offers a lot of fish restaurants but I was not impressed with them. My suggestion is to get the car and to explore the other Capes in the Costa de la Muerte or to reach the other villages - less tourist orientated.
