El Medano is mainly for the local Spanish and visitors into kite/wind surfing etc. Thankfully this keeps the typical tourists away, and doesn't need to cater for them.
Enough variety of decent restaurants, snack bars for any stay. Plenty of options for water sports, as well as the best cycle shop on the island, Bike Point.

A beautiful quiet town, without the rush of tourists, inviting for walks along the coast, the promenade or on the adjacent hill Montaña Roja, ending with a sitting in a restaurant in the centre. Surprisingly, the nearby airport did not disturb us. And if you're a lover of surfing, this is the place for you.

A wonderful welcome, gorgeous room with an incredible view for sunset and a terrace where you can toddle down to the black sand beach to cool off. Service is lovely, the town is wonderfully Spanish and there are gorgeous walks along the coast. I really enjoyed the vibe of the town on Saturday evening. I was alone, but didn't feel at all lonely.

If you love tracking, hiking, beaches, nature and you are a lover of the volcanic paradises you will love El Medano. There is no way that this place will be boring to anyone. The region is amazing and there is a lot to discover! The nature that embraces you is something that no one will forget. The important thing at El Medano is to have the correct apparels to take advantage of the place: Tracking sandals or shoes, always have you bathing suit under you tracking clothes, take advantages of the natural swimming pools built from the nature, you need to be fit and healthy to walk through this environmental. Great for children, as well, but the volcanic walks I would not recomment for very samll children. If you want to visit the region, get your kids used to walk and to love the tracking and hiking of the nature! You will never regret this experience!

El Medano is a good sport for windsurfing, kiting and Wind foiling. Its is generally windy even during the winter months. The town is small enough to feel quite intimate and has a nice buzzing vibe. A great place to socialise after a day on the water. On less windy days there are options for biking, or generally keeping fit with running or walking.
We ate out for breakfast and dinner and sampled a variety of cafes and restaurants in the town, mainly close to the main square. We enjoyed the food at all of them. They're not fancy but the prices are very reasonable.

We wanted a place to stay that wasn’t in a lively area of Tenerife and this was perfect! A great apartment with all you need in the apartment. Great views from both balconies of the sea and loved watching everyone doing the water sports .
Yes the planes fly over but you only have to look at where you are staying to know it’s near the airport and it didn’t bother us .
The host Claudia could not do enough to help , kept in contact to check we were happy. Would definitely choose this place again .
The location is great, good quiet area for families. Our kids loved the location, loved the pool, although it was still cold in February (definitely not a heated pool).
I liked that the house complex had a racket court, the beach was nearby, good restaurants right in front of the door, the shop is not far away, etc.
We stayed in a particular apartment for 8 days, then traveled for more than a month in other areas of Tenerife. In summary, I can say that El Medano is a very good area!
Campobase is a brilliant place to stay, staff are amazing can't help me enough, no matter what language you speak they can talk to you in your native tongue, I would highly recommend staying at campobase and travel using the bus to see the whole of Tenerife
Wonderful hosts, energetic young and inspiring guests, perfect atmosphere for sharing and orientation of freshly arrived explorers of Tenerife's lifestyle and vibe.
