Truly charming rural hotel in this hidden valley above Barco de Avila.A real oasis of calm with incredible views of the Gredos mountains. Beautiful, furnishings in the spacious bedrooms. Large but cosy sitting rooms, gorgeous terracota terraces looking out over the garden and Sierra. The service was warm and friendly sorting our every need. We ate twice in the restaurant in the evening and lunch the following day because the outside terrace was such a special spot. The food was good, both the fish and meat. We really fell in love with the place and area. Perfect for walking and cycling and close to the town of Barco. We shall return! Very good value for money!

Breakfast was excellent, the house is a beautifully renewed building in the upper part of town, very easy to access and near a public car park (free) if you're driving from Navacarros (great scenic road). Coming from Bejar access is a bit trickier, as you have to drive through the village, but the host is very helpful and provides clear instructions.
Lovely little town/village. Castle, plaza and views of the mountains.
We had a medical emergency in the middle of the night and the doctor turned out to the health centre, where she stitched the wound on my wife's forehead, following a serious fall. It was 3.30 am, there's no chance you would get that service in England.

The Hotel is divided into 3 (at least) buildings: Main one with the reception, bar, restaurant and Suites; another with "small houses" living room with fireplace plus room on an upper floor; and a last one with typical rooms (where we stayed). The room was well heated and was quiet. The meal we had at the restaurant was exceptionally good and the price was fair. The staff was all 5 stars. The Hotel is just outside the town and has a nice view of the mountains - pack some hiking equipment and a camera, you won't regret it.
Beautiful surroundings, lovely room in a building out from the main hotel complete with small balcony and hydromassage bathtub. Decent breakfast and great value for money, friendly staff
