Laid back, tyhpically Spanish town with lots of character, close to airport (though not so close that the planes are a bother), and not too many tourists. Visit before McD0nald5, Te5co and the big coffee chains remove all the charm

We enjoyed the less touristy feel than you get in Los Crisitanos. Plenty of restaurants and shops. We walked along the coast to Golf del Sur and back (4 miles and mostly paved). The next day we walked to Playa Tajita (2 miles rough trails), and enjoyed a swim in the sea... had coffee and ice cream in the shopping mall and got the bus back.

Los Abrigos is a small typical Canarian village.

Los Abrigos is a small typical Canarian village. It's a working village Lots of small bars and cafes But also an abundance of restaurants in the harbour area, this attracts a lot of visitors from the hotels at the next village San Blas. There's a few small grocery shops and a reasonable size supermarket at the medano end of the village. Our favourite restaurant is Sabor Portuguese just off the roundabout, Gina & Toni from Albufera are lovely. The sea front is stunning 😍 It's just a nice place to be, we've always felt safe There are no late bars or clubs so no rowdy noise in the wee hours. Try and learn a bit of Spanish so you can speak to the locals, they will appreciate it if you at least try 😉

the room was a dark hole without a window. i was only there for sleeping, so it was ok. i find it strange that there are places like on booking this for overnight, i mean, nobody would feel good in any way, sleeping in a hole like this

Los Abrigos seemed like a genuine Spanish working town.

Los Abrigos seemed like a genuine Spanish working town. There were restaurants aimed at tourists but they were used by Spanish as well as other nationalities. The food offered was locally sourced (mostly fresh fish) attractively presented. The beaches and parts of the town were fairly rustic and undeveloped - which we liked. There are sandier beaches with loungers etc in better known tourist resorts. We preferred what Los Abrigos had to offer.
