Cuenca is a marvellous city & the people are extremely friendly & helpful! The Christmas decorations were first class. The town was also entertaining with the parade of Giants & Bigheads representing the Spanish & Moorish King & Queen having an encounter & doing a little dance! The Bigheads are people wearing enormous heads on their shoulders & realising dances as well.
Lots of bars for drinks & socializing but many were very full in the evenings making it difficult to be severed or to hold conversations.
Food excellent! Traditional food or more actual food all catered for. The tables & chairs (terraces) were very often full during the midday warmth.
The Main/High Street (Carreteria) had lots of stalls selling all kinds of things. Lots of first class shops.

Photographers paradise.
Photographers paradise. We have spent long our taking photos form different locations in the city. And you have plenty of choice. Beautiful place. We spent there 3 full days wandering around the city and we did not get bored. Initially we planned to take one day trips outside of city but immediately changed mind after first day of photo shooting.

The old town is adorable and beautiful. Unfortunately didn’t have enough time to go on any of the many hikes in the surrounding area. Theres a large choice of restaurants and bars. I went to the restaurant in Plaza Mayor and it was lovely. I attended the science museum which was really interesting.

really need several days to explore this fantastic old town , restaurants in main square were quite good, cheaper than the parador, its built on a hill so a fair bit off walking involved, the views right at top just outside city walls are worth the effort to walk to, we were there on a Monday so was fairly quiet, probably get very busy at weekends,

Cuenca is a unique town - built on a a promontory between two steep sided river valleys. It has amazing views and beautiful medieval buildings. You must go to the Puente de San Pablo footbridge for the view from there. The Catedral de Cuenca is stunning. Also walk up to the top of the town to the Mirador Barrio del Castillo, the view from there is marvellous - and there are nice outdoor restaurants there to reward you for the effort.

Breakfast was great, with jamon, manchego cheese (3 different types), eggs, bacon, diverse table of bread and other cold meets/cheeses, everything that I could ask for. The room as spacious and with the best view I could ask for too, we stayed and the room 204 - superior double room. We also had dinner at the hotel which was prime, absoltely nothing less than great!
Very nice receptionists and very close to the best chocoloateria to start a day with churros) quiet, close to bus stop for train station or old town, supermarket, also, walking distance to museum of paleontology which is very good and worth going at least for the views of Cuenca and fun photos with dinosaurs. My kids also liked the Moroccan design touch)
Very good location to get to know the old and new town. Park your car and travel with the local buses, cheap and very convenient and parking is difficult in Cuenca. Old town is a short walk away. Apartment was well equipped and cute in it's layout. Ideal for a short to middle stay.
The city Cuenca was breathtakingly beautiful as was the view from our apartment window
The breakfast was the best we have ever had and the friendly staff made us feel so welcome that we want to come back and stay longer next time! Thanks everyone! You made it special for us!
