Property was beautiful and clean. The owner kept excellent communication with us and came by to give us the keys. He helped us find the closest point we could reach fPlaza de la Almijara) so that we could bring our luggage and lead old of the older members who had difficulty walking. Very enjoyable visit to the town.

Super comfortable room, beautiful bathroom, extremely clean. Excellent reception, great communication, nice breakfast in the morning. Could not be happier with our stay. Very good location, close to everything in the village.
A lovely location. Well worth visiting this incredible Spanish village. Very welcoming and friendly. Evening meal enjoyed at small restaurant in the central square enjoyed immensely. Great experience exploring and wandering the streets of the Old Town and experiencing what one imagines is the real Spanish lifestyle. Town market on Saturday. Several streets fairly steep and suggest bearing this in mind.

Cómpeta is a beautiful place with lots of restaurants and bars shops and supermarkets. It’s not far from the coast and other villages. So always lots to do . Cómpeta is very clean with an amazing church. It is very hilly so walking in the heat is a challenge. We would definitely recommend especially when they have their festivals

Competa is a whitewashed village with narrow streets.
Competa is a whitewashed village with narrow streets. Not many shops to visit but a nice square adjacent to the Church. We would recommend a lovely restaurant called El Pilon on all 3 nights we were there with food and staff excellent. However the journey to and from there is torturous and didn’t enjoy the ride at all.

After you are here for a short while you get the feeling of a community that is healthy and functional. There is an outdoor market once a week. The restaurants and cafes are good, the shops are lovely. Very nice wine and local product shop on a corner steps to the right of the main square. Walk around Cómpeta and you will find several gems of shops, views, and eating places. Cómpeta's streets are hilly and you have to have comfortable grippy shoes. In the short time we were there our legs defnitely got a workout! A very friendly place, 25 minute drive from the coast. But frankly, we loved the energy there and didn't even miss being on the coast. It was relaxing, had art, culture, food. Lovely air and sunshine!

Set in the hillside mountain you find the truly Mediterranean white houses and buildings tiered up the mountainside. As one can imagine narrow streets and lots of steps, steep climb in Competa. Park the car and enjoy the walk, stop at one of the cafes and take in the atmosphere.
However, if you are mobility impaired I would think otherwise.
Once you are in Competa and at a view point embrace the surroundings. Reserve a table at Restaurant Pilon for a truly enjoyable meal.

Great town just to wander around, lovely little streets, plenty of photo opportunities. The restaurants in the square by the church serve very decent food - tapas and similar. Competa is located well for trips to the beach - Nerja, Maro being two we enjoyed and also for trips to the Alhambra and Rhonda (bit of a drive but worth it). Would not really like to drive on the winding road up to Competa in the dark! An April visit was a good choice, not too hot and spring flowers in abundance. There were many walking groups around - those hills look compelling but challenging!

The location of the property was perfect for exploring Competa, which is an authentic and picturesque village. There was everything you could need provided for you in the property and it was all in great condition. The split level sun terrace gave us the ability to sun bathe and eat outside in extreme comfort.
Absolutely the best place! During our stay we felt welcomed. We enjoyed the quiet location in the hills with panoramic views. The location makes the Malaga Hills unique. Great place for hiking and relaxing (indoor swimming pool and sauna). Cómpeta is in walking distance with good restaurants.
The hotel is stunning and all of the rooms are perfectly cleaned and decorated to the highest modern standard. Equally, it felt really homely as the hosts make you feel like you’re part of the family. We’ve stayed in a few places in Competa and this was definitely our favourite hotel.
Small hotel in the centre of the town.
The owners were very interested in our well-being.
One of the best breakfasts of our Andalusian experience.
Our room had its own micro balcony overlooking the old town street.
Location was a little out of town but walkable. Cómpeta is very nice, artistic, welcoming, plenty of things to see. Quite a good mixed community. Good public swimming pool.
