El Tejo de Comillas, hotel in Comillas

This establishment is located in the monumental, traditional fishing village of Comillas.

Step-free entrance, parking near to entrance in own car park, lift and some rooms with step free walk in showers - good for my partner who has reduced mobility. The location is good, on outskirts of Comillas meaning you don't have to drive in; it was walkable for me to go to town and beach in 15-20 mins, and it was an easy drive to a carpark near the old town for my partner. Staff very friendly and room spacious. Hotel is located near lots of lovely towns, villages and coastline and there are plenty of walks you can do in both directions from the hotel.

Hotel Josein, hotel in Comillas

The Josein has direct views of the Cantabrian coast and Comillas Beach. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and free onsite parking. The Josein’s rooms all have satellite TV, heating.

The location is ideal for walking into town. The real bonus is its proximity to the beach and the stunning views from all of the bedrooms. Furthermore, all of the rooms have been refurbished to a much higher and comfortable standard than before. This was our third visit and we hope to return in the future. It’s also such an interesting little town.

    Beautiful little town.

Beautiful little town. A bit precious for our taste, but historically in tact and very well run. Incredible architecture and beautiful scenery. Gaudí’s Caprice is not to be missed. We wandered up on foot into the hills, and enjoyed fantastic views and beautiful winding cobblestone streets. La Solena Montañesa was a wonderful place to stay- the hosts were so personable, we felt like true guests.

Comillas is a lovely small town with beach and the astonishing Capricho de Gaudí, well with a visit. Our host, Jorge, could not have been more helpful with suggestions of places to visit and even accommodating us the watch the World Cup on arrival! We highly recommend it, especially for a family.

Lovely little town not too far from the motorway.

Lovely little town not too far from the motorway. Perfect place to overnight en route to Santander or use as a base to explore the area. Walkable if you’re OK with steep bits. Nice beach within walking distance. Good selection of bars and restaurants but worth noting that as in many touristy places out of season many of them are closed in the evenings. In future at this time of year (October) we’ll have our main meal during the day and snack/graze in the evening.

Apartment was very good, apart from beds.

Apartment was very good, apart from beds. Everything was clean (10) and well-equipped. When scaffolding is removed, access to and use of private parking will be a bonus. However, the garden was untended, with unusable chairs, table, clothes-drier etc. BBQ was full of cigarette ends.. Not a welcoming area.

It’s a lovely town with plenty to see and do.

It’s a lovely town with plenty to see and do. We stayed during a Fiesta and the atmosphere was great. We were on motorbikes and this stay was for the last 2 nights prior to sailing for England. We would certainly stay here again and use it as our base for rides into the Picos and also along the beautiful coast. The hotel is light and clean and the staff were very good. I heard that a refresh may be happening this winter which would be good although not really necessary.

One of my favourite hotels that I stayed in while walking the Camino del Norte. The warm welcome I received from the young man on reception (sorry I never asked your name) to the comfortable, quiet and spotlessly clean rooms. Very central too. 100% recommend.

Best hostel on the Camino so far, great attention to detail in making the place comfortable, clean and like home from home. Definitely worth a stop and Comillas a picturesque place to wander around.
