Breakfast was included, basic but enough, yogurt, juice, toast, hot drinks.
Parking was available, as it was underneath the hotel, with anything other than a smallish car, it was interesting. The hotel was so well situated for exploring Cuidad Rodrigo. It was a short walk to the market and the bus station. A number of bars and restaurants were at hand, 5 minutes walk.

The retro elegance of the spacious rooms and en suites in an ancient building. Comfortable and quiet, despite the central location. The air conditioning in the room was an added bonus, and little things like the monogrammed bed linen and towels made it seem even more special. Loved our stay here

The Medieval Fair was on the weekend we were there with free events and people dressed in costume roaming around the streets which made it very special. The streets were decorated with flags and the mood was warm despite the downpour on the Sunday, It was perfect to view the buildings, walls, bridge and castle during this time and to get a glimpse into life back then in this environment. The road that google told us to go down was closed because of the festival but a friendly local got out of his car to talk to us - in Spanish - we couldn't understand much but enough to know to follow him on an alternate route and it took us to the apartment. True Spanish hospitality from a complete stranger.....

A very historic building set within the fortifications of an old Napoleonic Fort, with helpful and pleasant staff, lots to look at in and around the hotel, and a walk up the stairs of the tower is well worth the view, even though you will be gasping for breath, only a short walk to the center of town and all the Bars, Cafes and Restaurants
More of a personal note really, they (Europeans) don't get what ‘well done’ means in relation to food, when the menu says comes with jacket potatoes you do not expect half a potato, however, it must be said the wife’s lamb shank was cooked to perfection and her other half of the potato looked okay. One potato between two people looks like we're going back to the Irish potato famine!
I must also add in fairness here they did not charge me for the meal as I did not eat most of it
Well worth a visit and walk around the town and battlements

Lovely little town with a very family Spanish touch.
Lovely little town with a very family Spanish touch. The plaza mayor on a Saturday and football match was a happy gathering of all generations and it was lovely to see. Walking along the ancient Roman wall and along the river is a must. A lovely town which I could for sure visit again on our way to Algarve from north Spain

Ciudad Rodrigo is a lovely walled town with lots of history . We particularly enjoyed the Goya exhibition and also the very odd but hugely enjoyable Museum of Chamber pots ! The walk around the wall is really lovely and the views are amazing . We ate in Plaza Major where Menu del Dia was 15 euros .

Very disappointing especially as it was a birthday treat.
Very disappointing especially as it was a birthday treat. Booked a double room and got a twin. Very small, dark room with old fashioned bathroom with many broken tiles. Rubbish for the money. No better room offered despite being lots of empty rooms. Breakfast order was wrong. Waited over half an hour for eggs and then the order was wrong again. Staff did not seem bothered. Very over priced and the room was nothing like the one we booked and nothing like the pictures advertised.

Hotel is a little gem in a small town with a fantastic restaurant and facilities. It's a oasis in the middle of a farmland and was home to a bull raising facility in the 70s. It's very comfortable with an excellent swimming pool facility. Really didn't like leaving.
The hotel was perfectly located for seeing all the historical sites and for a good selection restaurants. The reception was very helpful and charming. Breakfast was basic but okay
