The host was quick to reply and super accommodating. The unit is gorgeous and fit for royalty. It was a sanctuary for us at a time of need. Forever grateful.
This charming guest house is located right on the Camino de Santiago, opposite the Santa María Church in Carrión de los Condes. It offers rooms with attached bathroom and an excellent restaurant.

So clean, so comfortable, so quiet and peaceful. A gem on The Camino! Great coffee and a bath tub were highlights! Staff was the best!

This was a hidden gift for our group of three pilgrims. The owner takes pride in the details to make this place homey. It has all the practical kitchen things that anyone could ask for. You have it all. Shower had hot water for three consecutive showers. I liked that there was a den area and a dining to give us space to take inventory of our belongings. When we were there it was a cold night for October and we were appreciative of the heat supplied. We used a clothes rack to put some damp clothes on not too far from a heat source and by morning things were dry. All three pilgrims agreed that it was comfortable and clean. The price point is set fairly and made it definitely worth it. The set up to enter the apt is much easier than anticipated thanks to the host writing us clear instructions in English. We arrived late in the day and asked him at lunch how to get in and the host replied with perfect instructions. High recommend.

I went to Carrion de los Condes because my ancestors came from there so I went to see it and though it's small, it's lively - I was the first of my family to return there after 300 years and went to the church where many of them got married but despite all that. It is a lively little town with a good number of eateries, a nice looking park and places to drink. The town surprised me to be honest, I was expecting to get there and there would be just one man with a donkey sat on a park bench looking into the mountain, it's nothing like that at all - well worth visiting.

The hotel is situated near the motorway which makes it an excellent choice for people either travelling to Santander or to Portugal from Santander. There is plenty of green space outside so it would be a great place for children to play. The building itself is steeped in history and guests are able to visit the cloisters .

As one of the major stops along the Camino Frances, it is a good choice to stay another day and rest if you need to. Supermarkets, pharmacies, bakery, self-service laundromat, and restaurants/bars all within walking distance. Quiet place.

A quiet huge hotel, full of atmosphere, courtyards, sitting rooms, chapels, lovely worn old wooden floors ( shuffling monks feet?), huge doors, shutters, airy corridors and bedrooms . A well converted monastery which has not lost any of its monastic charm.
The restaurant was spectacular. We had the most delicious dinner and a very good bottle of local wine.
Finding the hotel was easy and a short stroll across the bridge into the town where groups of pilgrims enlivened the very empty quiet streets.
A very good place to stop off enroute to the Santander or Bilbao ferry.

Small hotel in centre of town. Room was clean and a good size. The owner was such a kind man. My friend was very sick while we were there and he arranged that we could keep our rooms for another night. He also called the ambulance and made sure we were both ok even though he was busy and short staffed. A true Camino angel.
Such an interesting building with so much history. The corridors seemed to go on forever. The museum next to the hotel is free for residents and was lovely and peaceful Restaurant was good but expensive. Restaurant staff were helpful unlike the hotel staff
Comfortable, nice staffs, right next to the camino and village center. And amazing restaurant run by the hotel; the dishes served there were the best ones i had during the camino francés from Saint Jean till this point.
The location and the hotel's staff treatment were really good. They even let me keep my suitcase in there while I was taking part in a race on the same checking out day
I liked the room so much that I opted to take an unplanned rest day on my Camino. It was the best hotel I stayed in on my Camino including The Parador in Santiago!
