Cadaqués is a Spanish harbour town in north Catalonia on the beautiful Costa Brava, about a 2-hour drive from Barcelona. The white of the houses and the blue of the sky inspired many famous artists like Matisse, Picasso and Max Ernst, who decided to live there for a period of their life.
Featuring traditional Mediterranean architecture with narrow streets, a sophisticated atmosphere and a paradise bay with small fishing boats, the medieval town of Cadaqués is home to important churches and museums.
The world-renown surrealist painter Salvador Dali lived in Port Lligat, in a former fisherman's house with his everlasting love Gala. Today the house of Salvador Dali is open to the public and you can visit the artist’s atelier, the library and the garden.
Travellers should not miss the national park of Cap de Creus, the easternmost point of mainland Catalonia with a historic lighthouse built in 1853. This unique place is perfect for hiking or boat excursions.
The promenade area of Cadaqués has many local restaurants serving Catalan specialities. Booking.com will help you find a hotel, guest house or resort in the heart of this picturesque town and the nearby cities of Roses, Empúriabrava and Sant Pere Pescador.

Cadaqués is a lovely place to visit, we were there for 5 nights which was just right for us. We went out hiking to Punta de Cap de Creus, really enjoyed that. If you enjoy hiking then you’ll find many more great trails to explore. The picturesque town is also nice to stroll through, once you get up to the church you’ll be rewarded with a great view. Lots of great little restaurants where you’ll enjoy meals and local pastries.

The road in is very busy and narrow, and was for some I think a rather harrowing experience due to the speed they were travelling
Cadaques itself is a busy seaside town at this time of year, parking looked to be rather challenging our hotel had free parking so we were sorted.
Food was good, beaches were busy, but nice place to visit. If staying for a few days would need a plan to escape the hussel and bustle of the town

First impressions were very positive, and Cadaques is strikingly picturesque. The people we met, mainly service providers in the hotel, and in restaurants and shops, were all polite, warm, friendly, and helpful. There is much that is charming in Cadaques, despite it being a tourist hot spot, and as already hinted, the locals have not acquired that patina of frustration, or disengagement with visitors that often comes with frequent sustained exposure to tourists/members of the public. Dali's house, and the exhibition of his engravings are hugely interesting. No less striking are the large number of very good restaurants. My only regret is not having discovered Cadaques earlier in life.

Beautiful town and coastline.
Beautiful town and coastline. Exceedingly windy therefore cold but we went in April. Restaurants and supermarkets overpriced but lovely church, museum, little shops and steep windy streets to wander around. Twenty minute drive to get there winding back and forth through the mountains so not great if you get carsick.
Beautiful walks in all directions if you can brave the wind.

Cadaques is a small town, still with a lot of excellent small independent restaurants, design shops. It has some exquisite bays for swimming as well as exceptional scenery. everything is walking distance including the Salvador Dali home. If you like biking or trekking it is also a very good choice. Do not miss Cap de Creus natural reserve, where you can even have lunch or dinner. The food is always exceptional in Cadaques

The hotel interior is really beautiful and unique and I spent a lot of time in the courtyard enjoying a coffee or cocktail and working. It's an easy walk down to the restaurants in the evenings, and I had an amazing visit to Salvador Dali's house which I highly recommend. Make sure you book in advance as they offer limited private tours only - I got lucky by just showing up and getting a ticket as I was solo.
It is a very friendly small hotel with parking. Breakfast was very good in a lovely breakfast room. The room was spotlessly clean with good quality toiletries and towels. The bed was very comfortable we had a great night's sleep, the room temperature was perfect in the very hot weather.
This is such a quaint little place to stay. Very well thought out. Everything you need and in quite a unique way to stay in Spain. The pool was great. The tents were great. Facilities brilliant.
