The most valuable asset of the hotel is the team. Any person whom we got in touch was extremely friendly and helpful, trying to do his/her best to make us feel comfortable and welcomed.
Facilities are well-maintained, and the hotel itself is situated in a beautiful valley, less than a minute walking distance from the ski lift and 15 min drive from Vielha.

Good for snow quality, and a range of skiing. Long, older ski lifts could use upgrading. Limited dining on the pistes, but that which is there is of good quality and great service. No apres ski. Very limited restaurant choice so half board is advised.

Good for intermediate skiers, plenty of blue & red runs for a 5 day stay. The lift pass system needs updating, they're still using the barcode pistols to check you on to lifts. Baqueira is a quiet resort, anybody used to the Alps would find there isn't much choice in terms of bars, restaurants & nightlife but ok if you're after a quieter stay. Municipal parking is free & just a short walk to the accommodation buildings (hotels & apartments), around 5 to 10 minutes. We saw a forecast online of 1.5m depth of snow at the top & 1.2m at the bottom (snow forecast.com). This was misinformation by a long way & maybe the resort is providing the wrong information??

The Val de Aran area is a beautiful part of the world, if you can avoid peak hours to hit the slopes you can stay anywhere in the area and enjoy lovely food in an awesome setting. Baquiera has the added value (and cost) of being able to walk to the ski lifts.

Family skip trips is not only about slopes and snow, in our case we were fortunate with perfect weather and the begginer section was well prepare. However they are cutting services everywhere like the free shuttle from parking to the lifts, also they should also check the quality of some restaurants and apartment which are old and not maintenance for years or decades.
Definitely not a family ski destiny. Just find somewhere else to have fun with your offsprings

The resort closed meaning we spent a lot of non-refundable money on a resort we were only able to ski for 1 day. However, the skiing is great and generally the people are helpful and friendly. The restaurants serve some delicious foods (for the 2 nights we were able to go to a restaurant),

The Ski area is great and very well maintained, but it was just to Hot! As its our first trip there I wouldn't know how typical the conditions were.
We were staying 50 mts from the lift and next door to the ski hire, so no complaints on that score, there is also a train which runs around the town.
We found one tiny bar at night, so not a party town. There are a lot of nice looking Restaurants, which we didn't visit as a family group. There are a few fancy pit stops on the slopes but be careful as 4 hot chocs and 3 cokes cost £50-.

The lobby area of the hotel is very cosy, it has a bar with comfy chairs/sofas where you can have drinks and good food all day. The breakfast was amazing! Huge selection to chose from.
The rooms are ok size wise, the beds are very big and comfortable. The bathrooms are modern and functional.
A garage is below the hotel and easily accessible. There are electric chargers available.
The hotel has ski lockers close to the telecabinas, where you can keep your ski boots and skis, so no need to carry them long distances.
amazing traditional but new properties, warm, cosy and our 3 bedrooms could easily accommodate 8 people. very upmarket feel and only 10 minute walk to lift or there’s a shuttle that leaves every 10 minutes. The Hotel Rafael (1 minutes walk) has 3 restaurants all serving 5 star quality food and with fantastic service too.
The hotel was lovely and the staff exceptional. They were all very friendly and helpful. The location is great very close to a chairlift (100m) but they also provide a minibus shuttle. Our experience overall was very good, lovely staff and food, nice pool, sauna and bar.
