An unexpected gem! A delightful property full of character and the most incredible home-cooked food
This great spa hotel is housed in a modernist building dating back to the 19th century. The property has preserved it charm, romance and special old-time spa atmosphere.
Boasting mountain views, Agroturismo Sidreria Txindurri Iturri offers accommodation with a garden, a terrace and a bar, around 32 km from Monte Igueldo Funicular.

We stumbled across this place quite by accident and we were delighted and felt welcome from the first moment. Alazne and Aritzek are brilliant hosts and brilliant people who despite no doubt having a lot of work to do always took the time to tell us all about the places in the area worth visiting and just having a chat and cultural exchange. They are both a treasure trove of knowledge and kindness and we would recommend coming here just for them.
However, the place is also great in itself. Nestled in between rolling green hills, you will find the peace and calm you are looking for by coming here. If you want a bit more action, San Sebastian and Bilbao are both very reachable by car, along with the many charming coastal towns nearby offering beautiful views of the Bay of Biscay and the geological formations where the sea meets the shore.
The room was very comfortable and gave us everything we needed. The meals were also very good (we were especially fond of the breakfast with homemade apple juice and jams). If you're a fan of cider, this is also definitely a place for you.
The drive to get there, 1 km up and down curvy roads, is a little bit daunting, but you don't get a reward this good without at least a little bit of effort. Do yourself a favour and make that effort.

Quite central and near the beach. Fine for anyone who doesn't require extras. Good value for money as we got a deal.
I was just passing by, staying for one night. Nevertheless I planned to assess the town as I enjoy the area and have plans to return for some hiking.
The town is fairly compact and can easily be visited on foot, featuring an interesting pedestrian area along the river.
On the main square I found a very lively youth event with an ongoing football-like match.
Beyond this, the brief experience was not the best as I ended on a restaurant that felt to be touristic, with staff that were not particularly welcoming or attentive. The menu was very limited and the food also did not impress. I hope there are other more satisfying options in town.

Wonderful mountain town, lots of history, huge cathedral,...
Wonderful mountain town, lots of history, huge cathedral, really nice people. Amazing views everywhere and easy access to all of the other small villages and towns in the area as well as San Sebastian. Take the small roads along the seashore both south and north of Azpeitia - you will fall in love with the people and the scenery!

The location in the small town of Azpeitia was ideal for us to discover the Basque Country. Bilbao and San Sebastián are easy to reach by car. The apartment as such is located in a small pedestrian street, with restaurants, bars and shops nearby. It is decorated with a lot of taste and the kitchen is well equipped. And, yes, we can confirm that the beds are really comfortable. The communication with the host was very easy and pleasant. Thank you!
The hotel is a basque traditional structure worth to visit not onfly for the large rooms and the exceptional and abundant breskfasts but overall for the kindness of mrs Maria, the madame who has been running the hotel for the last 52 years and is now helped by her son and doughter. She is also the cook of extraordinary suppers you can have in the hotel restaurant. The kindness of this family is the ingredient that will make your trip great!
The owner welcomed us nicely, the beds were confy, the shared bathrooms were clean. Served us well!
Tip: There's a hidden path to reach Azpeitia on foot without walking along the highway. Climb a bit near the parking lot, go South, leave the dogs to your right, keep climbing South a bit, and keep left at the second fork, when the path is not paved anymore. At the end of the path, you will find a staircase that goes directly to the town.
• It is located in the beautiful mountains of Azpeitia with an amazing view of the city.
• Well managed by a wonderful host Ana.
• Clean rooms, kitchen and dining space.
• Perfect option to have a relaxed stay for both vacation or work.
