Outstanding facility, well-located; very comfortable, very clean and Carlos was extremely helpful! They allowed me to leave my car there while I hiked for four days, and a few days later followed up that all was okay. Outstanding service!

The hotel is peaceful and spotlessly clean with ample car parking spaces.
The food is first class, nicely presented and delicious.
It is obvious that it is run by a family not paid employees.
We will be back again next year.

Very clean and friendly place with a good choice of bars and restaurants even late in the season. Very quiet at night which was perfect. no loud music or shouting in the streets. Very easy access to the beach which was cleaned every day. Entering the sea for a swim was easy as there aren't any rocks at the water's edge as there are on so many beaches further north.

Fabulous Hotel. We will be back.
Fabulous Hotel. We will be back. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Excellent breakfasts and delicious dinners. A truly Lux Experience in beautiful nature and surroundings, amazing room and facilities. Even the detail of having a bottle of sparkly in ice with two glasses in our room awaiting our arrival. Spa treatments superb and well worth the money.
And did I mention the gorgeous pool and jacuzzi experience perched on the side of the hill with amazing sea views and perfect silence?

Agua Amarga is a small beautiful village with a long sandy beach cove. It is ideal for a short visit. There are a small number of restaurants and bars in the village whose main speciality is fish. Agua Amarga is unspoilt and very popular in the summer and many visitors moor their boats in the bay. There is a motor home park just outside the village and many apartments to rent in the summer season. The Hotel Family is an excellent hotel to stay in and is 2 minutes from the beach. Out of season Agua Amarga is quiet and tranquil and is ideal for a relaxing stay.

If you're traveling from Almeria by public transportation, make sure you find out the bus schedule. It doesn't pass by frequently. The only bus in the afternoon on a Friday was at 8 pm and the only bus back to Almeria on a Monday morning was at 9:10 am. The bus company you can call is Frahermar.
The hike to Cala de San Pedro has amazing views! It could take 3 to 5 hours from Agua Amarga.
