The property is newly refurbished right on the west bank of the Nile near Aswan old dam and is very well connected with the Philae temple on Agilkia island.
The room was large and clean and it had a nice view on the Nile, with amazing view of the Nile at sunset.
The staff is really friendly and welcoming, especially the owner, Sied Wanas. He spent time with us, offered us tea and coffee and we had a lovely time with him at sunset hearing stories about the place and his family.
He also arranged for us the boat to Philae temple and a driver to Luxor, with stops at Kom Ombo and Edfu temples.
We also had a delicious dinner at the hotel and it was lovely as well as the family atmosphere.
I can’t recommend it enough if you visit Aswan and then head to Abu Simbel or Luxor on your own.

Highly recommend staying at Kato Wadi when in Aswan. Exceptional service and good facilities. The hotel also connects you with local vendors for the common tourist activities in and around Aswan. Do ask for the activity book from them as the prices and very reasonable compared to Viator or GYG

Personally, I felt it was decent but too expensive and not 4 stars. When comparing hotels I thought let’s go for the quieter, bit more local Nubian place. They charged almost a hundred dollars a night but they also have 4 stars. Mistake.
Positive: The airport transfer was good, although there was a random man traveling with me in the same car. I was without delay picked up by boat across the water, and they kindly carried my bag. The owner speaks English and called my tour company to arrange pickup across the river the next day at 4AM (abu simbel). The room was clean and the ceiling fan worked. They have solid wifi. I had a nice view of the water.

A beautiful getaway on the Philae Island. The location itself makes the whole difference. Such a relaxed spot after the hustle and bustle of Cairo or Downtown Aswan. The transportation to and from the island is included in the price for you arrival and return but if you wanna take trips inbetween (Philae temple is definitely a must-see), they will organize a boat for you for fixed prices. There is no problem with late or early arrival, they accommodate to your needs. Breakfast is very tasty and with a beautiful view, if you want dinner they can prepare it for you but they need a heads up to be able to gather the supplies (that is the case for all the island retreats around). There is AC in the room. We had almost the whole place to ourselves in our two-Night stay so it was even more relaxed.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful and are always around, as is the manager - whenever you need something, he is there to help you out without pushing you into taking organised/planned trips to sightseeing spots etc (that is otherwise the case in most Egyptian hotels where they can be kind of pushy).
We planned to stay only for one night and decided to extend our stay cause we liked it so much. Do not miss out on Aswan!
The quietness and view of this place are what makes it so special. We would wanna go again.
