The staff at this hotel are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Tamar was so nice to me and made me feel very welcome. I was offered a welcome drink and they carried my luggage. I was not constantly hassled for tips which made a nice change. The room is basic but comfortable and has a really nice little balcony overlooking the Nile. The water pressure was excellent and there was plenty of hot water. The food was plentiful and tasty and they also gave me a breakfast box with rolls, eggs, juice, crisps and croissants which was very nice. The restaurant area upstairs is really nice and has a lovely view and chilled vibe. This place is just a short walk from the Nubian market (albeit the Nubian village itself is far away from downtown Aswan).

One of the most stunning regions along the Nile river is in Aswan. The picturesque Philae temple is accessed via a boat and the entire region has stunning rock formations that compliment the impressive temple. It’s magical sailing into Philae temple. On the other side, Felluca boats dominate the Nile and create the most charming atmosphere with the backdrop of tomb sites on a desert sand mountain. A quick boat ride takes you to the Nubian village where you can indulge in shopping Nubian handicrafts and amazing Nubian food. Nubian village is so colorful and filled with the most warm people.

The best is the Nubian Village with their blue houses and a lot of decoration, you feel that you are in a movie set! It is really beautiful location.
Close it's the Philae Temple which is amazing! The trip in boat is necessary to access it and actually better than what I was expecting.
The worst is the amount of street animals in poor condition. Do not go on a tour around it as it's unnecessary and you will be taken to see crocodiles in small cages, we didn't do it specially for this reason. Anyway the village is easy to walk around if you don't mind the amount of people asking you to go to their shop, but that is in any part of Egypt

Great place as it's very far from big cities.
Great place as it's very far from big cities. However, you must be aware of constant harrassment and big prices on anything. It's definetely worth visiting, but don't think it's worth more than three days. Elephantine island is a MUST to stay and walk - very cozy place and very friendly people.

Much more laid-back than Luxor and a world away from Cairo.
Much more laid-back than Luxor and a world away from Cairo. Abu Simbel is only 3 hours away by car and was a high point of our Egypt trip. Philae is a nice excursion, and the Unfinished Obelisk and its quarry are interesting. We stayed in a hotel right on the Nile in the Nubian Village and would recommend that lower-key vibe.
The road from Luxor to Aswan has more speed bumps and check points than you can imagine; the good road on the West Bank is closed to tourist traffic. Ya gotta be patient. Consider the train...
The Aswan High Dam is rightfully a source of pride for the Egyptians but they don't let you see much of it for security reasons. You could spend your time better elsewhere.
Don't forget a pocket full of small bills (5-10-20s) for baksheesh for toilets, helpers, temple guards, etc. Be prepared to pay for meals in Egyptian pounds in smaller restaurants.

Beautiful historical places to visit from here.
Beautiful historical places to visit from here. Philae Temple and Abu Simbel (a 3-hour trip from Aswan) are the most chosen. But you can also enjoy the Nile kayaking, swimming or even crossing to Elephantine Island for a sunset drink or dinner.

Unlike Cairo, Aswan is much slower paced and people are much nicer. The city has several historical sites, temples, and islands. The views and food are amazing. I’m skipping Cairo on my next trip to Egypt and coming straight to Aswan and Luxor.
We were to Assouan for 4 days for holidays in Abu guest house
Abu and his son are very kind and Nice people
They are here everytime to make you happy and make sure that you having good time in the house and during visit
Living in island is very quiet and relaxing place you can swim in the nile if its too hot, They know good spot for
I recommend you to take your meals in the house its fresh and very tasty, big portions
They recommend you good things to visit and can organize some for you too
Its our best hotel our trip in egypt
EVERYTHING was simply perfect! The food was the BEST we had in Egypt. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, clean, and eco friendly which we love! The service and hospitality far surpasses any 5 star hotel. Tamir proactively arranged our airport transfer, a romantic sunset dinner along the Nile, and even accommodated an extended stay for us all before we even left the USA. We would have stayed longer if our trip allowed, we loved Ayujidda so much. This must not be missed!
Staff were extremely polite and helpful. Especially thanks to Ahmed, we could spend great time there. The guest house is located in the heart of Nubian Village, people are great. Very clean and cute rooms. Good value for a cost efficient trip. But the greatest part was the breakfast. It was humble but the best, especially comparing similar hotels and guest houses in Egypt. We will always remember this cute village and Lawanda Nubian House. Thank you!
I would recommend anyone travels to Aswan book this. The host really gives me a real flavour of Nubian life style and he is so good in arranging all your travels hassle free with a reasonable price.
Plus the juice is insanely good and internet quicker than 5 star hotel I have lived in Cairo and Luxor.
I rarely left any comment but this is a solid recommendation from me, especially if you like me who travels with no clear agenda booked ahead.
The manager of this hotel is amazing! His kindness and care to his staff and his customers truly made my experience in all of Egypt incredibly impactful!!! I went on a tour with him twice, learned a little but of Arabic meant his family, and visited his old home. Thank you for making my trip to Egypt so impactful.
