Wish I had one more day to enjoy it without early wake up call. Visiting library is must, catacombs, the citadel and jewelry museum. Recommend taking a horse carousel along the Cornish to the citadel. Have dinner at the Greek club , walking distance from the citadel. We had superb birthday fish dinner.

Alexandria is a city that indeed changed the world in knowledge and beauty.

Its entrusted but ignorant authorities are abusing its eternal beauty and its residents are hoping for a the day when their city shall rise again out of the authorities greed and the contractors' concrete.

I enjoy staying in Alexandria during the winter months, from October to April, because it’s truly pleasant and quiet. Staying at Montazah Palace during this time was a wonderful experience and felt truly unique to me. It could easily be considered the “Monaco of Egypt” when staying at Montazah.

Interesting history and monuments.
Interesting history and monuments. Minimal 'touristy' areas and no pushy stall holders. Multiple people said 'welcome' as we passed them on the streets. On occasion when we had difficulty communicating, there was always someone stepping forward to help.
The bus service is bewildering and we only used the red bus along the corniche (running only hourly on a Saturday). We took taxis (negotiating fare beforehand). We felt like we were taking our life in our hands - but survived the mad traffic conditions.
The air is far from clear. Lots of exhaust fumes and noise - not recommended if you have bad asthma.
We had a city tour and trip to El Alamein, definitely recommended.

Crazy traffic and noise, dangerous to walk as a pedestrian since there are almost no traffic lights and pedestrian crossings. Uber taxis are very cheap, but most of them drive like crazy and don't have functional seatbelts at the back seats. We found the best food and view at the Greek Club, and amazing croissants at the Croissant D'Alexis! Montazah park is beautiful and offers some fantastic views away from the traffic and the noise.

Location of the hotel is great, inside a nice outdoor mall having different restaurants and cafe's. Many shops are also around and if you are travelling with kids, there is also a kids' entertainment rides in within the mall. Family room was excellent which was basically 2-connected rooms with bed space for 4 and 2 LED TVs' and coffee makers. Breakfast is a world-class 5 star buffet with an Egyptian flavour as well. Everything was just great.
The staff went out of their way to make you feel more important than you actually are:) Very friendly. The room had super high ceilings and the balcony directly overlooked the water giving you a great view of all the chaos that is Egypt until it quieted down later at night. You could see lots of classical touches that suggested this is where the richest of the rich once stayed and that gave it a charm.
Madam Dina is the best person in all Egypt, always helpful and smiled. She was caring about me like about member of her family. Privet driver and boy from the reception were also very gentle. Definitely if I'm in Alexandria ill go back there. The city is so beautiful, you must also try some fruits which are more tasty than in Europe 😍
Hotel location is excellent as it is so close to shopping area at the down town and staff was very nice and helpful.
Breakfast was okay although the omelette chef was not that good compared to those of other hotels, I stayed in, in Sharm El-sheikh and other places in Egypt.
The photos are exactly what you will find
Alaa the owner is a very optimistic positive person
For a person who is going for the first time to Egypt, the house is so near to many coffee shops so it is easy to walk and go out.
