Delightful modern apartment surrounded by a beautiful scenic countryside. Our host was nice enough to allow an early check-in. The apartment had a comfortable bed and really tasteful furnishing. My family loved the stay.
While the apartment is set a few minutes from the city (making it perfect for people with cars), it's also easy to get to using a ride sharing service like BOLT.
Fun tip. I found using the words "Pinska Kulalistemaja Marengel OU" in the BOLT app, brought me directly to the location.

Beautiful old town with picturesque landscape and wonderful parks.
A lot of culture - music, theatre etc. The Cultural Academy of Tartu University has brought new vibe with it's students into the old town.

Compact city with a very laid back vibe which is easy to explore on foot. Everyone was helpful even though I don't speak Estonian, and overall it feels like a welcoming place. It's not a 'bright lights' kind of city, but a great place to relax and wander at a relaxed pace. There are lots of cafes, restaurants and bars in town, though I only had time to check out Fellinn for lunch and Romaan bar for a drink. Both were excellent - the bread at Fellinn is particularly delicious, and the barman at Romaan recommended me a perfect craft beer for my tastes. Also loved my walk around the castle ruins and a visit to the Kondas Centre to see their current exhibition.

Best time to visit is definitely the summer and autumn since Viljandi has a lot of parks, gardens and other green areas - walk, run, cycle or just sit on a bench and do some dolce far niente. There's always a good exhibit or two (or three) in Kondas Art Centre and every time I visit there's a new café or lounge just opened and eager to surprise.
P.S! Bring your best walking shoes since public transport within the city runs once in a blue moon.

Located equal distance from the Capital Tallinn as the...
Located equal distance from the Capital Tallinn as the University town Tartu and the Beach/Spa resort town of Pärnu, and approximately halfway between them, Viljandi is a hidden pearl! It has stayed relatively safe from utilitarian architecture, and managed to keep a lot of its Independence Era charm. Little streets and alleys, cafes and restaurants, magnificent Castle ruins, all are populated by friendly local people. Viljandi is not one of those towns that come alive only during Festivals (of which they hold many), but a living, growing place that has managed to preserve its charm and keep it present.
Whatever you may dream of, you may find that hidden in Viljandi
Unbeatable location just by Viljandi Järv (lake), quiet, peaceful, with a first floor terrace that has a view on the lake. Single beds are a bit small, but comfortable enough to sleep several nights. The room decor is charming, and the street is quiet, so you can expect an undisturbed night's rest. The breakfast is nice(there is something for vegetarians too), and the staff are friendly and helpful. All in all, a wonderful place to stay during your vacation.
No doubt one of the best hotels in the city. Great room with nice shower and bed. Attractive building with nice design. Great breakfast with many alternatives. Good restaurant in house
