Could arrive any time in the afternoon/evening with code given for the lockbox. Host communicated very well! Excellent location, in a walking distance to most sites; clean apartment with basic kitchen supplies.
It's worth visiting! Nice small city with a lot of places of interest. Please note Kondas art museum, picturesque views and amazing food in Fellin café & resto. We want there three times in 2 days :-)

Beautiful old town with picturesque landscape and wonderful parks.
A lot of culture - music, theatre etc. The Cultural Academy of Tartu University has brought new vibe with it's students into the old town.

Compact city with a very laid back vibe which is easy to explore on foot. Everyone was helpful even though I don't speak Estonian, and overall it feels like a welcoming place. It's not a 'bright lights' kind of city, but a great place to relax and wander at a relaxed pace. There are lots of cafes, restaurants and bars in town, though I only had time to check out Fellinn for lunch and Romaan bar for a drink. Both were excellent - the bread at Fellinn is particularly delicious, and the barman at Romaan recommended me a perfect craft beer for my tastes. Also loved my walk around the castle ruins and a visit to the Kondas Centre to see their current exhibition.

Best time to visit is definitely the summer and autumn since Viljandi has a lot of parks, gardens and other green areas - walk, run, cycle or just sit on a bench and do some dolce far niente. There's always a good exhibit or two (or three) in Kondas Art Centre and every time I visit there's a new café or lounge just opened and eager to surprise.
P.S! Bring your best walking shoes since public transport within the city runs once in a blue moon.

Located equal distance from the Capital Tallinn as the University town Tartu and the Beach/Spa resort town of Pärnu, and approximately halfway between them, Viljandi is a hidden pearl! It has stayed relatively safe from utilitarian architecture, and managed to keep a lot of its Independence Era charm. Little streets and alleys, cafes and restaurants, magnificent Castle ruins, all are populated by friendly local people. Viljandi is not one of those towns that come alive only during Festivals (of which they hold many), but a living, growing place that has managed to preserve its charm and keep it present.
Whatever you may dream of, you may find that hidden in Viljandi

Luxurious! From automatic front doors opening, to the superior and extremely soft bed, pillows and duvets, you will feel very special staying here. My room overlooked one of the city squares and gardens. Very quiet. The historic building has been restored to its former glory. The lovely staff available 24/7 will go out of their way to serve you. The buffet breakfast is beautifully presented and has an excellent variety. I wish to highly recommend you stay at the Park Hotel Viljandi, I hope you love it as much as I did. 10 out of 10.
I liked the location in Viljandi old town, cosiness and comfort. The small apartment has everything you need for a comfy stay, even the phone chargers on both sides of the bed. Good hot shower, very clean. Apartment was warm despite the strong minus grades outside. Easy to park and walk around, short walk to lake and the theater. Will stay there again when in Viljandi.
Absolutely great place to stay in Viljandi. Great location (walking distance to theatre, old town and many great restorants). apartment renovated with love and care, super cozy and those high ceilings make you dream big 💛
Well located traditional hotel, on the shores of the lake but also very close to the Viljandi center.
Everything is perfectly cleaned and maintained.
Very kind welcome.
Hotel staff was very helpful with everything before and during our stay. Overall quality of the hotel and its SPA area (including massages) were very good.
