A basic hostel accommodation in a quiet side street. Nothing fancy, but everything was in decent condition and very clean.
The shared kitchen seemed well equipped, but I did neither have time nor any need to use it. Everything you would expect in hostel price class was OK.

Location was very good, very quiet by a park. Really nice indeed!
Getting in the building was easy and the apartment is actually wider than you see in the pictures.
It took me some time to understand that the bed was actually the sofa you have to unfold.

Good comunication with owner. In a small steps he send information how to get in apartament. Nice, comfy apartament for a family after a long trip. Everything was perfect.
Valga is kinda meh. Not bad, but also not somewhere you would recommend to someone. You can do everything in the town in 1-3 hours. If you're going from Estonia to Latvia by train, make sure you time the train right because there's only 2 trains per day.
You don't want to have to stay in Valga. It's kind of a boring border town. Sure come out, go see the world's most relaxed border crossing, but it's really anti-climatic.
Defiantly don't book an expensive hotel because you'll regret it. Book Yasmina if you have to stay in Valga, super cheap and comfortable and you won't feel like you wasted your money (as much).
Very nice hostess and a clean Soviet era appartement in lovely Valga. Luxury hotels don't even come with their own fully equipped kitchen, but Helga's guest house does. Helga was also very patient with my non existing Estonian and limited Russian knowledge. Couldn't get a more socialist experience for any price!
