Beautiful old hacienda. Nice walk with horses and great views above the hacienda. We experienced problems with our credit cards at the time of payment. The lady at the reception proved very friendly, patient and helpful.

Rosita is lovely and welcoming, we enjoyed staying in and her cozy, clean apartment. The apartment is a great place to stay for anyone doing the Quilotoa walk or just visiting Isinlivi, and includes a kitchen and private bathroom. Rosita also showed us her cuy and chicken farm and even took us on a walk around the town.
Easy to get cheap lunch box for the next days walk from a nearby shop for $3.5 or $1 for just a sandwich.
The Italian restaurant up the road is perfect for dinner and affordable. We just made our own oats for breakfast.

Incredibly warm and welcoming hospitality with clean facilities overlooking the valley. The family are so kind and and shared lots of stories about their community. They even gave us a tour of their beautiful veggie garden and Guinea pigs. Great outdoor seating for a beer at sunset. They also provided a lunchbox for the next day’s hike. Would 100% recommend!

The staff is really friendly: they do remind me on a couple of grandparents who want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. After traveling 3 weeks through Ecuador this place has by far the nicest rooms we have seen. They are spacious, new and very nice decorated providing all facilities you need.
The owner of the hotel provided dinner in the evening which was really good at a very fair price. Communication was a bit hard because they don't speak English very well, but the owners are very open and willing to help.
With mountain views, Hostal el Vaquero is set in Chugchilán and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden, sun terrace and children's playground.

The sauna and steam room were a nice bonus despite the facilities being pretty basic but that is reflected in the price.
