The stay at Mindo Bird Lodge was excellent. The room may not have been 5 star, but it was comfortable and close to the action. The birds are all around. you can sit under cover and have birds fly right by you. Thev private waterfall is incedible - you feel like you are the only one to have ever been there. Such a great place.

We had a great stay at CantaRana Lodge. We had a really lovely room overlooking the lagoon where we lay in the hammock in the verandah and just listened to birds and frogs. It was very peaceful and relaxing.
Eduardo and his team were fantastic. Eduardo went out of his way to take us to feed the hummingbirds and to visit the butterfly farm. His hospitality was amazing.
And breakfast was sensational. We had a wonderful breakfast watching birds and small animals. It was perfect. We had a wonderful stay and just wish we could have stayed longer.

I had a great time in this hotel! The suite was modern and comfortable. All the suites have private jacuzzi and balcony. They serve a delicious breakfast, nice and clean swimingpool. The staff was friendly.

Mindo gardens is a few km out of the main town of Mindo. It has its own land with some trails/walks to nearby waterfalls. The gardens are beautiful and teaming with birds, frogs and other wildlife. So if you want a perfect/quiet get away staying somewhere beautiful while able to see wildlife then this is perfect.
If you want to be central to Mindo and in a more busy environment then this may not be for you as the walk/taxi into town will get tiresome.

We very much enjoyed our two days in Mindo. Another day, would have been enjoyable, but we were able to hike through the cloud forest to visit six of the seven waterfalls and enjoyed our time at the butterfly refuge and hummingbird garden on our first day. On our second day, we greatly enjoyed our birding tour and on our way back to Quito had time to stop by Al Mitad del Mundo.

Mindo is in a beautiful area with great opportunities for hiking. We enjoyed the Butterfly farm and the Maya Chocolate demonstration, and had a great meal at a tiny family run restaurant called Persian House.

I chose to head to Mindo instead of staying in the city of...
I chose to head to Mindo instead of staying in the city of Quito as I wanted a place to relax and recoup from my long haul flight and get ready for my Galapagos Experience. It was everything I wanted, I felt safe and had options for dining without having to get taxi’s around. The bird life was amazing and I loved the cloud forest environment.

Mindo has a lot of wonderful nature options. Feeding hummingbirds, the BEST butterfly gardens we have ever visited and we have been to many & really good bird watching - we used Sandra & Romelly at Bird Paradaisio (sp) & had alot of fun & Romelly drove us back safely to Quito but took us on an extra bird sighting trip on the way that was super - wonderful too! The trails to the waterfalls was a lot of fun & the falls are worth the trek although these out of shape older folks didn't make it to them all. The chocolate tour at Yumbos led by Amir was wonderful! We enjoyed both the tarabita & telerifico rides although the last was a bit scary, terrific views! Prices for everything was very reasonable, food may be a bit higher than rest of Ecuador but not too bad. Limited options though as most menus looked almost the same. One place we would definitely come back to. Only the food options were a little lacking. Everything else was fun & it was nice to be out of big cities.

In Mindo you can do kayaking, visit and bath in waterfalls, drive around in electric quads ans bicycles, the is a "mariposarium" with a lot of species of magnifique butterflies, therea a lot of restaurants with worldwide cuisine in the village because a lot of foreigners like italians, germans, americans, who are living there because they felt in love of the village....

DO NOT FORGET MOSQUITO Repellent or Cash.
There is no cash machine in Mindo that accepts foreign credit or debit cards.

Is wonderful - all aspects - room was a so spacious and comfortable. Food was sublime - are there each of the 3 nights we stayed. The whole Team were brilliant!
Peaceful property with hammocks, a good daily breakfast and comfy beds. The property was clean and is only about a 10 minute pleasant walk into the town. Big thanks to Mateo, the owner, for showing me around the area too!
If I visit Mindo in the future, I would definitely stay again.
The hotel is located a little bit outside of Mindo center, but not far from it - the spot is simply beautiful. We felt more than comfortable in our Suite incl whirlpool on the balcony and enjoyed our stay to the utmost. Very good breakfast and food too. Highly recommended!
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful - despite not sharing much English/Spanish we made it work with Google translate, and the staff were very patient with us. The views from the property over Mindo valley were beautiful.
La Tranquilidad is a quaint little accommodation in lovely Mindo. This was our second stay at la tranquilidad. The beds are good, the shower is good, location is good and the prices is really good. What else do you need?
